I been using this program for a few months now, and I think its actully quite great-serving the purpose of a pic veiwer and editor, minor burning program, programming code editor amongst a lot more functions with plugins. What am I missing? Is this program that great with those of ou have tried it and what other functions can I get for it? Post your opinions here...

I think irfanview is a descent mutli-pic viewer program and it's very neat

I been using this for years!! and it kicks ass

Everywhere I've worked it's become standard issue on all machines.

Very fast and very functional image viewer with tons of advanced features and keyboard shortcuts.

Best of all...its FREE!

Can't go wrong with irfan view.

PS..The latest version was released just a few months ago neb, so it is not an old program.

Does it allow you to make a picture slide show cd that auto reads and runs automatically without installing anysoftware if so i need to get my hands on it

yeah i have been using it for many years now and is the default viewer for almost all my graphic file types. it is far superior to anything alse i've seen. I dont really use plugins for it however, use it for graphics exclusively.

hmmm no response on the fact of it creating slideshow cds without any installations on the viewers pc !!

actually you can. it requires some knowledge of the autoplay.ini and editing a text file. its takes a little time.
copy ifranview and the photo files to the cd and include: an autoplay ini (nero can do this i think) and tell it to start ifranview by executing a slideshow file you create(command line options). this slideshow file you change to the correct path of the files on the cd (relative paths).

we use fancy cd authoring software to get the same effect.

Thank you! glad to see I'm not the only one who knew what it was back in the day...and yes it's great but I haven't used it in a while; it burns cd's now? Do they make a linux compatible distro yet cause they only made windows version when I used it.

Dunno bout the Linux compatibilty Bong, but so far from the year I been usuing this program, I been LOVING it to death. Make image veiwing so much easier and quicker. And yes, it has some CD burning plugins. I still toting version 3.80. Any link where I could get an update version?

You can go into the preferences and change that.

In Linux, we don't need Irfan, because we have ImageMagick and the GIMP~!

Irfanview is definitely a program to have. Fast, functional, stable and free. Thumbs up.

YEA it work's really good bin usedin it on and off 4yrs now one day i look over 15000 pic with it ... :shock:
