What do you all think about this bargin Card

Hey what exactly is ur budget, cause I could get  a 9550 which is supposed to compete with a FX 5700 for a lil over 600$ TT, i've read some reviews all seems to suggest it can, so hey DX9 support, faster than a 5700 can't go wrong

the 9550 is the 9600XT core  with old ram that they used for 8500s/9000s [3.3/3.6ns] and  whatever surplus heatsinks that the manufacturer has lying around[ the 9550XT is the 9550 with spare 9800xt heatsinks on it.. clox good]  .... it has almost HALF the clock speed of the 9600xt so it can work with a bare heatsink......

 i do my research.... it was designed to replace the 9600se/9200 by using spare parts.. there are 64bit versions like the 9600se but the 128bit versions can hang with the 9600 in the benchmarks

i ain have no set of mc money das de point..I want a card to last me a lil 2years, no I doh change gfarix card like clothes so once it could keep up with most of the new games if it cah play all I aint go dead...ramp's suggestion look like the best

2 years horse, well yuh hadda go with a 9800 non pro, or a 9700 pro else no other card aint go last yuh 2 years, but wtmc, i dont think my 9800 pro will even last 2 years, maybe a 1.5

i have 3 brothers and have been clouted several times by all of them...

Dread Strongton right, unless you're playing games that are less than... ahem graphics intensive you gonna need like an X800 Pro to last you two years man.... I also have a 9800 Pro and I am not sure it will last 2 yrs, maybe it will, times and game developers will tell...

actually according to my research the MX440SE isn't castrated like SE cards normally are with a halved bus, it has 128mb instead of the normal 64mb, but the Ram and Core are slower than standard... .not by much but it will be noticable.

 i say get a 5200 ultra/non ultra 128 bit WITH A FAN.

It will run it kinda good..... not as good as a 5200 ultra 128, or a Geforce 4 TI , or even a geforce 3.... but it'll run it better than a geforce 2...

my advice.. go with the 64mb one ,  the only games that need 128mb of  memory are Far Cry and DoomIII at higher settings than u will be able to play anyhow , and the 64mb is faster... and cheaper.

well hear what, if yuh want some $$$ to go buy a good or decent card, and yuh is 18yrs or over and have an ID card (well dis work for me), go get a work in the URP (not CEPEP) and you'll get about $1000 for 10 days "work". all yuh really sacrificin is 6am to 10am for 10 days. if it rain, day off, if sun out bright, well yuh hada take a lil beatin, but at de end of 10days yuh have $1000 in yuh hand.

if yuh wah get de URP work, jess go an see your local diehard PNM supporter. and i ded serious about this

.. just think about it THIS way :

2x the ram does not speed up an 9800 pro any because the chip can't use it properly .

2x the ram on a Geforce MX won't  speed it up any either .

what you want is a Geforce 4 TI , or FX  ultra [ non ultras tend to suck bad ] .

if your on a budget , a 64mb Geforce 4 MX , WITH A FAN!!!!  , Nvidia cards run hot  and unless it has a FAN and heatsink on it , it is SLOW.
