apply some  Arctic silver thermal paste to your CPu's metal surface, it decreases heat by as much as 12 degrees celsius if applied well.

if you don't have ANYTHING between the CPU and the heatsink.. you know what the problem is, get a cheap thermal pad.

if that does not work, get a nice big copper heatsink with a giant fan on it.

get some dental floss and  tie the cables into bundles....

put some grease on your cpu.

a volcano 9 will be more than enough, but it is rather loud if you keep the case off.... maybe drill a big hole and put in another fan?

Drill another hole and put in another fan? LOL i would need 2 power supplies to run all those fans man. I would have to get some on board connector fans first to free up some power outlets can u believe all of them are at use now not one is free except the serial ATA ower cable

Use rounded IDE cables (If yuh not usin dat already) And U might want to invest in some Hard Drive cooler bays (VIP Work Like Wonders). I figure you will decrease the amount of heat in yuh case.

no..... is not a pentium.... the actuall clock speed of his comp is  2.1 GHZ... but its as fast as a pentium 2.4/2.5.. therefore its a 2600 which is fine IF it is a barton

512mb of DDR is more than enough if it is dual channel and the same speed as the cpu's bus [ or more]

the problem he might be having is that the PSU fan is not pushing out enough heat , so inside his case is a furnace.

the 450 watt is fine if it is TRU power.

if you have NOTHING between the cpu and the heatsink that is the Overheating problem right there, ANYTHING between it like thermal paste or a pad will help alot.

NOPE. The ones I have they use the same power outlets that come from your power supply so it would come like you usin the same connectors just the drives inside a case

I had 3 fans running on one power outlet and i hooked it up to the graphic card and the fan on the graphic card wasnt working so there is a power problem also. as for the cpu fan there is a very thin layer of termal paste on the cpu core. the cpu fan runs at about 4017Rpm
