hmm.....i play few rpgs to begin with however, at no4 id say GTA 4 for the plot and awesome if not somewhat glitchy gameplay, no 3 Red Dead Redemption again great plot and for a western totally suprised me , no 2 is a tie between fallout 3 and fallout new vegas both run on the same engine so they look the same but fallout 3 story was better while fallout new vegas big upped the gameplay making it much better and no 1. would have to go to mass effect for me simply because for me its the most memorable its the only game that actually had me play over from the beginning just so i could see the different changes in the sequel mass effect 2 which is amazing more so now when mass effect 3 comes out i may have to play it all over again just because....its that good both in plot,gameplay and visually it really did capture me in a realm of true scifi. And thats it, doudtful this would be read since this post is dead but whatever
