Now this is a serious issue that must be considered.
On September 11th, 2001, American history was forever scarred by the deaths of 3, 000 people in the World Trade Tower suicide attacks.
People mourned the losses of their loved ones, and America sought the shoulders of the world to cry on.

Now, while I do sympathise with the deaths of so many people, here are my thoughts on the whole issue.

America has painted a very pretty picture in front of our eyes.
They would so like us to believe that they are the very enforcers of law in the known free world (and I use the term loosely), and that if they do something, such as bomb an Aspirin factory, it's all in the interest of Global security and the welfare of American citizens.

And nothing could be further from the truth.

America, these days, seems to be looking for any and EVERY excuse in the book to harass people all over the world. September 11th, I'm very sorry to say, was a scapegoat to launch this campaign on terrorism.
Countless acts of terrorism were perpetrated all over the world, from Saudi Arabia to Israel, long before September 11th, but did America do anything?

And the answer is nope.
Not even waaaay back in 1996, when the first bombing attempt on the Trade Towers take place, did they even emphasize on fighting terrorism.
Apparently, they had to wait until 3,000 of THEIR OWN PEOPLE die to jump-start this campaign on fighting global terrorism.

Now, while we're on the subject, let's talk about September 11th.
At first, I whole-heartedly sympathised with America.
I was more than willing to support their War on Terror, and was also more than willing to see Osama Bin Laden get his ass kicked by the US troops.
But a couple years down the road, they took this sympathy ploy TOO DAM FAR.
Two years later, they're still weeping and crying over their loss, and endless tributes could have been seen whenever 9-11 was mentioned.
And to those people, I say:

GET THE HELL OVER IT, ALREADY!!!

I can NOT emphasize enough that THE BEST THING WE CAN DO FOR THOSE WHO HAVE DIED IS TO KEEP ON LIVING.
Now, that's not to say that I don't sympathise with those people - the loss of a loved one is a heartbreak that never seems to go away. But if we don't move on bravely in the face of adversities such as these, how do we expect to progress?
On top of that, now, why aren't we weeping at all for the victims of Hiroshima? Or the Aspirin factory bombing? Do they not bleed? Do they not deserve our sympathy as well? Or are they not important enough to warrant your tears?

And sometimes, I think, America feels more saddened by the loss of the Trade Towers than of the people that were inside of them. They more than enough times emphasized that they lost the Trade towers in 'a cowardly act of terrorism'. Now, every time I see a 9-11 tribute, it sickens me to my stomach to see that level of patheticism. Patheticism in the sense that they refuse to move on with their lives, rather than honour the memories of the fallen by doing just that.
But I digress.

The point here is, that America is not 'infallible'.
As a matter of fact, they are just as guilty of murder and bloodshed as some of the countries they have pinpointed as 'hotbeds of terrorism'.
And yet, they won't ever own up to the fact that they ahve made so many goofs in the past.
If America really does feel that it has the right to spead authority all over the world, they should at least do their part to help out some of the less fortunate countries, other than the campaign of re-building a country after they bomb the be-jessus out of it.
You see all of those spoiled-ass celebrities who constantly brag about their 300 jacuzzis and whatnot?

That money could have been used to shelter several homeless people, or perhaps fund some food and warm clothing to those who need it, or even adopt a child from a third world country.
But what do they spend it on?
Houses with 16 bedrooms, half of which won't be slept in.
Gourmet dinners that cost $100 US and up.
Facelifts and Plastic Surgery.

Good Lord.
To say that American celebs are among the most selfish and self-glorifying people in the known universe would be the understatement of the decade. That's why I say thank God for celebs like Keanu Reeves and Tom Hanks, two celebs who have hearts of gold. Now THEY deserve to be famous!

Well, those are my thoughts.
America has played the sympathy card for WAY too long, and considering their actions in the past, I'm not so sure they deserve it again.

Bowling for Columbine was terribly biased at some points.

sure it may have been "biased" @ some point or d other
but it is the truth and it is real
you have been blinded by the preety picture dat the media has portrayed of the US
you have fallen for the sympathy ploy
and fail to see the real problems

it may have given u the impression dat it justifies bin laden's actions
but it is jus showing you it from his point of view

Violence begets violence  all the parties involved are responsible for the (collective)deaths of all those civilians.

placing the blame squarely on Americas shoulders isnt going to bring all those people back.

What ever happened to soldiers meeting on an open battlefield like the ancient days. Now innocent citizens in the crossfire have become the norm.

I have never viewed the US as innocent in all this however when the US sits idly by and refuses to get involved in the affairs of warring nations.

Lo and behold out come the protestors begging them to go in.

What a fine mess this is.

No son. Calm down and listen to me.

Michael Moore is like the exact opposite of Bill O'Reilly. Both of them stand for different things, but both of them employ the same tactics. Michael Moore twists facts and his documentary has tons of out-of-context information in it.

I agree with his stance. I'm anti-war and anti-Bush. I recognise how racism is ingrained in America because of its history. I believe in the conclusion he comes to. When I watched his show I was as blown away as you are.

But I did what he did...read up on the material, and it's obvious that plenty of what he wrote is iffy, and some of it is downright incorrect.

Perfect example is in the end when he tries to make Charlton Heston look like a racist...Charlton Heston has awards from African-American anti-racism organisations. He was one of the first actors to get involved in the civil rights movement. Man actually marched with Martin Luther King.

You make yourself look like a fool. A complete fool. You don't have any idea what I stand for or against. I've been against this war and American foreign policy vocally for years.

But because I question what he says you automatically assume I'm against him or support the war.

Or that I'm some kind of sheep. Since you watched his movie have you done any independent research on it or the subject matter? Have you read up any books on what he talked about? Or are you willing to just take everything he says as truth because you agree with him?

You're doing the exact thing you're accusing me of.

Michael Moore says he's against the lies that are blinding people. I think it's wrong of him to employ the same lies and tactics that the other side uses in order to justify his point of view.

Stop and think awhile before falling for the hype.

i tink dat he was jus trying to portray things in a different view point
and not the perspective america has created
in his attempt to do this, some of the things may have came off in a harsher note dan expected

i'm sorry if i may have accussed you of wat you are not
but based on your 1st response dat was the conclusion i had derived
