ATI claims that they have boosted the clock speed on their 12 pipeline X-800 pro in order to meet and occasionally beat the performance of the 6800 .

The initialy planned clock speed has been increase to 475 core and 975 RAM . ATI claims that their 12 pipeline X-800 pro with 96 bit precision, 256 bit bus and shader 2.0 will be faster than the 6800. EIther ATI has gotten nervous... or.. they are telling the truth [ likely ] . IF this is true... the cheaper to build and probably cheaper overall ATI X-800 pro may dominate till the next nvidia model card.

And when the X-800 XT comes out it will be even faster...

no........ i can't wait for the cards because........

the 9800 pro is already 200 USD with only the 15% faster 9800XT above, it, imagine if something TWICE AS FAST was ontop? i would be able to get a 9800 pro / non pro .

depends on how much i sell it for....

the 8500 still is one of the best bang for buck products ever.....

it was 10 USD faster than the 5200 128mb at the time... it was faster.. had better colour quality... came with a 1 year warranty.. came with ATi File player [plays divX niiiice ] and power DVD 5 ... overclocked 50 mhz [ dass hi for a graphics card ] .....

no i don't think i'll ever stop talking about my 8500
