"After nearly ten years, four owners, well over 2000 live TV shows, lots of laughs, a few tears, and meeting many many wonderful people, my time at TechTV has come to an end.

I could tell so many stories about the talented, committed, hard working, and hard partying people I've worked with there. Each and every one of them will always have a special place in my life . It was with great sadness that I walked out the studio door for the last time last night.

The reasons for my leaving are complicated. As I posted here a few weeks ago, Greg Brannan, Peter Hammersly, and I had come to a happy agreement about a new work schedule and salary, but at the last minute TechTV's outgoing owner, Vulcan Ventures, insisted that I sign away all claims to shares they had given me some years ago. I was unwilling to do so, and they held my job as hostage.

My leaving has nothing to do whatever with G4 or Comcast. In fact, I'm very sorry that I won't be around to participate in the transition. I've already contacted G4 to let them know I'd be glad to continue working at the new channel once they take over and I hope that I'll get that chance. "

*sniff sniff* de man gorn boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy............He was acutally one of the real techies on Tech TV. The man used to buy EVERYTHING that comes out. You ask him about something and he like "well have one at home and........". He was a real boss i find, the man had a hands on on everything tech.

Anyway, I can't believe Leo gone jed wha d MC. He was the one who made me start watching TechTv, mostly Call For Help at the time. I use to watch that everyday ritually and now he gone. steupssss......

When dis switch over suppose to happen?

Basically (according to Leo), Vulcan tried to screw him on some stock he held, and threatened his employment. Leo decided to walk.

Boneheaded move, if only because Leo Laporte was THE MAN. And everybody knew it.

True, Comcast only wanted the channel's viewers and cable exposure, but I don't think that they will be all too happy with Vulcan "slash and burn"ing the on-air talent.

Leo was to Tech TV like Superman was to the Justice League.

Love him or hate him (and most people loved him), you couldn't deny his role as a founder and supporting structure on the channel...he was like an institution by himself.

Tech Live had done a whole piece on Yoshi and his weight loss, and Yoshi's weight loss article is somewhere on the techTV site.
