Upgrading Advice on motherboards

I am upgrading my motherboard and i have to chose between the
Asus A7N8X-X nForce2  and  MSI KT4AV-L Via KT400 .

I have been told the nforce is a better and faster chipset but is the nforce 2 400 better than the kt400 ?

I'd go with the A7N8X-X..try gtting ur hands on the 8X-E though.that board have GB ethernet!(Nforce 2 is supposed to be bteer>dual channel RAM.SATA etc.)

If you're going with an nforce2 solution, you should strongly consider getting 2 sticks of ram instead of 1. That's because the nforce2 boards are primarily dual channel boards and as such, their true potential will not be met unless you fill the 2 mem slots...

Alternatively, you could look at the A7V8X-X which is based on the KT400 chipset. They're pretty inexpensive and are rock solid.

the A7N8X is the way to go.....

i had that same choice to make.....and i choose the Asus...

i've got the A7N8X Deluxe...i've had no complaints since i bought it and the chipset is definitely faster..
even some technicians pointed out to me that the Asus is better.......and also with the A7n8X, it is said that it can be underwater for 2 days and when taken back out and dried CAN STILL WORK....that's cool [but i wouldn't try it though]

The nforce2 is the best AthlonXP chipset, it supports DUAL DDR 400 . Thats 6.4 GB/s as much as an Xbox, more than most graphics cards . It gives a 25% increase in speed in 3d rendering but only a 3-4% speed increase in gaming  .

 The KT400A is one of the better chipsets, rock stable, decent speed and DIRT CHEAP , you can get one for around 58USD and it supports BARTONS and DDR 400

a geforce 4 MX 440 integ is faster than the real thing with dual DDR 400

nforce 2.  No question.  though I have seen some suh-weet KT600 boards with SATA.

I wanted the Asus A7N8X-X but i ended up getting the msi KT4AV-L because i got it for $640.
