I would definitely like to see that movie.
If it's stirring up so much emotion among the populace, then I'd say it has to be one heck of a movie.

On a personal note, though, I can't understand why some people would even think about opposing the production of this movie. It's like people are seeing God as offensive now. I mean, first the ten commandments displayed in the museum, and then that?
I find such people should shut their trap, allow for our right to believe in God, and, quite frankly, haul their mc! :hymc:

[ahem]
I'd still like to see the movie.
I think it's time for some much needed insight into the life and trials of the Saviour Himself, n'est pas? Maybe I can truly learn something....

Why people are so opposed is mostly due to the gruesomeness of the movie.  I hear the Jesus is bloody and beaten for a good part of it and maybe some people find that a disrespectful depiction of the Christ

I guess...
Then again, while the mere thought of seeing Jesus that way burns my blood, I think that it's a wake-up call to everybody. I think that everybody needs to see how much the Lord went through to ensure Salvation for us all.

People, let me just take this opportunity to say that if you want to see just how much Jesus endured for you, me-for ALL of us, maybe you should go and see this movie. I haven't seen it yet, but if you've read the Bible, you just KNOW what He went through. Please...remember Him.

i have seen it ...and the scourging scene was a little bit gory . The crucifixion was the same. The actress playing satan kinda freaked me out at some points. Overall it was good but still was on the tame side imo (roman torture was much much more worse than that) oh yeah u guys better leave the foodstuff home and carry your reading glasses for the reading of subtitles

Uh....yes, we know this.
Anybody with a Bible would've known that.
Still, though, I guess Mel didn't see fit to see Jesus' story to the end...that's a shame, though....the Resurrection is the main point of Jesus' sacrifice, you know...

political, religious and other emotional movies are really hard to produce,
for on they can me sued if they step on any unplesant boundaries
and also, they may lead to violence, hate and discrimination of certain groups in society,
in this case the Jews
i will have to see this movie and see if it is good or bad......

i am not sure as yet...
as for converting, i think ppl who are strong in their faith or happy where they are will not be converted by a mere movie....
as fictional or truthful as it may be

Yea, everyone knows that, but you have to remember exactly who is making the movie.  It's directors interpretation.  He could've stopped the movie right before he was crucified and people would already know what would've happened.  It also depends on the angle the director wants the movie to take.  Although, if the theme of the movie is the "Passion" of the Christ, then showing the other side of all that torture would've been the best thing. The triumph as it were.

well actually a large segment of the people on earth do believe he survived including muslims and buhddists. he was supposed to have had many children and died in kashmir at some ripe old age. i don't think that they are small minded because that is what they are taught in their scriptures.

yes, but you have to remember that the account that the movie is most likely taken from is the Bible.  So their saying that it doesn't make sense to put in half of the story and forget a main aspect and then have people misinformed.  that's all
