Why is this under previews? It's not like the game hasn't already been released or something...
Get the 1.00a patch, it "fixes a minor bug in the server browser and improves NAT negotiation for online games". That should fix your lag issue.
Bugs? Where? In the bushes? I ain't tried the server browser cos I ain't tried it online, so haven't seen that bug...but you said bugs...plural...what are the others? I haven't come across anything and I been playing it fairly regularly...
True the gfx are a tad dated compared to the ultra beautiful Far Cry and Doom 3, but it ain't bad by any means. For me though, the gameplay is just fantastic
It's just so much fun...I only just found the option to turn on Jedi in the Instant Action games last night, and I must say, it's really cool to be run down by a Jedi only to get blasted to bits cos you're more concerned with not gettin chop up fine fine than you are with getting shot in the head
What was even cooler was that I was a mere Rebel being run down by Vader himself! And to hear the deep breathing behind you while you run head first into a group of Storm Troopers was simply exhilarating
It's all about fun for me, I wasn't a huge fan of Battlefield 1942 when it first touched down, mostly because there was an annoying bug with it and SoundBlaster Live cards...so I didn't play it much...but Battlefront is it for me.
Only got a 7.9 on gamespot.com but any Star Wars fan will immediately add on an extra 1.0 to that simply because they can run around and do so many things that they've always ever wanted to see done in the movies. Don't get me wrong, this is by no means only for the fans of the movies, the gameplay is still pretty spot on, as far as I'm concerned, and as such, can hold its own pretty well against other multiplayer FPS games.
The one downside to the game is that it requires a 64MB gfx card, and that totally rules out the majority of the PC's in my office
But I fortunately have a decent machine that has a 128MB FX 5200 in it....I know, nothing to brag about....but hey, it's my freakin work machine!
And we've got 2 others with similar cards, so we at least have 3 machines for Friday evenin sweats
Plus, you don't need that many to play, since there are some decent bots in the game
