now some of you might be wondering wtf this is doing here.....so i'll explain.

The Hollywood reporter has revealed that Warren Zide, the American Pie and Final Destination producer has purchased the film rights to Namco's fighting game series Soul Calibur.

the following is taken from a Gamespot report.

While no date has been set, the project will be Zide's first under his new Sony-based production banner, Anthem Pictures. Matthew Rhodes, Noel Vega, and Jesse Warshal will co-produce.

While no details were given on the Soul Calibur movie's plot, it is likely it will take elements from the original Dreamcast and arcade game as well as Soul Calibur II, its arcade, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube sequel. Both games concern a cast of mighty warriors, lots of brutal hand-to-hand combat, and the all-powerful Soul Edge.

Sounds good doesn't it ?

Yea but will Ivy use Summon Suffering or even worse, Criminal Symphony?

Will Kilik hit Xianghua in the crotch?

Will Cassandra stab fallen foes only to end with a showing of gluteal brute force?

Will Cervantes Teleport?

Will, Voldo use his "I can pull any gurl in this dance" moves on ppl and actually look good?

Will Astaroth bury is Axe in the skulls of opponents and bash them into the floor with the foe still attached?

Will the characters use parrying?

If done perfectly using the game's storyline then Kilik should see alot of action . When i'm a little more awake i'll post what direction i think the movie should take.

Shizz you think they'll have the story for all the characters or just concerntrate on some major ones?? And fit the others into that character's story line

Nightmare should be one of the main characters . There shouldnt be more than 6 main characters if my mind serves me correctly. Although it will be interesting to see how they handle the transition from the Soul Edge storyline to the Soul Calibur storyline.

One can only hope that it won't end up hashed and mutilated.

Still gives me nightmares just thinking about it...[shudders]

i saw in a playstation magazine a long time ago (well not that long), the cast they were going to use for the characters.....

actually these are not the actual characters to star in the movie (my mistake).....this is jus Playstation's choice for them....
taken from the Playstation magazine, october 2003....

"Hollywood has given us its own version of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. Heck, there's even a Tekken flick supposedly in the works. So, what's to stop a Soul Calibur 2 film from being developed? Nothing, we hope. Here are our picks for who should play them:-
