unreal tournament 2004 is available in beta already.... it is basically battlefield or tribes in the Unreal universe. The full game will ship on 2 DVDs or 8 CDs... people with UT2003 original will get a 12USD rebate on it. IT has vehicles, constructable buildings etc. , gameplay is much like Wolf : ET but with planes and rocket launchers. Beta needs 1GHZ and 64mb GPU min .

The producer for the game just said 6 CD's and 1 DVD.
It is supposed to be released next week or sometime around then

Also uses a rederer program that allows you to play the game without proper graphics card capabilities.........details on the site.

Special Edition(Limited Edition) = 2dvds and alot of bonus stuff not in the regular version. Even includes a headset.

Regular = 6 cds

2k4 includes many of the maps that were in 2k3. But the majority of the maps are for 2k4. The current maplist for 2k4 is in the system folder as int files I think.

the geforce 2/radeon 7500 min specs mean that it uses hardware T&L only unlike UT 2003... which will probably make for better 3-d FX.

the rendering technique used is called [link=http://www.radgametools.com/pixomain.htm]Pixomatic[link] which is the same thing used in Half Life and Q2 [ the neeeww versions]. Since Pixomatic 2.0 is compatible wit DX7 [ hardware T&L] it should allow processors to play 3-d games in software mode .... but with settings at 0.00000001 .... but it means that lower end pcs will be able to join LAN parties with a whole bunch of lag....... probably still faster than ETM or Halo...

The Demo ALONE makes you wanna buy it...

Hell for spider mines, hand me my good old Lightning Rifle and anything that throws explosives and we GOOD to go...

The vehicles are just BOSS to pilot. Road Rage killing bonuses to CRAW. And for the destroy base modes...you have to keep you power pylons alive by repair and defence and assault the opposing base at the same time.

If you have NEVER played a FPS in your life, now is a DAMN good time to start with UT2004....

But we have played the demo and it onwz our base, literally.
it established all the nodes in a Z pattern already with a redeemer heading for our power core.....we are lost to it.
From the above you can tell that i like the onslaught mode, and zk's favorite option of bombing run is back....i know it REL early to say but..
