well is a known fact that the AMD 64 bits perform the best at OpenGL and DirectX

but when it comes to video encoding nothin beats a P4

and crixx u entitled to ur own opinion to me P4 and radeon ownin ur P4 geforce any day of de week

AMD for obvious reasons...it cost less than the Intel....btw way guys Intel and AMD processor type chips are both pentium class chips.

The radeon over the nvidia currently...I may just buy the nvidia over the ati just to get the call of duty game that comes with it but other than that ati.

AMD is the better chip for gaming.

So says the benchmarks on tomshardware which shows their new chip beating intel in about 90% of the game tests.

This is in direct reference to the new Athlon 64 processors on a relatively cheap SIS 775 motherboard.

That said, luckily for us, it is only marginally better...so if you spent your money on an intel rig, there is no need to despair. You will have just as grand a time playing your favourite games.

A 2500 Mhz or faster version of any of their chips will handle all the games on the market today.

That makes our lives real easy as gamers. We can buy any processor blind and come out swinging. AMD or Intel? Flip a coin, buy one because you like the color of the box, decide based on the smell of the chip, either way....yuh sweating. lol

or one more thing to list there baego, how much green u willing to shell out...the AMD may give u a couple more bucks to spend upon getting another important part for a gaming system, the VIDEO CARD!!

That may be the difference between someone on a budget from getting an nvidia card and an ati card

AMD and Intel pricing is very close nowadays.

Want the best AMD chip? It will cost you around us$700. You will pay the same for the fastest Intel P4 Extreme.

Want a good mid end chip? AMD will run you around us$150. Same for a Pentium 4.

Motherboards for both are around the same price as well. They both use the same ram nowadays.

Like I said, it's really just splitting hairs now. Marketing and personal preference are the real factors here. Performance and Price is moot. To close to really have a major impact on your decision.

I dare you to go down Euro and tell me which machine has an Intel processor in it judging from the performance.

That's a test no one will be able to pass. lol

if you want the best bang for ur buck u chose amd fo everything except video encoding .the new ss3 instruction set for the presscots does a bit to improve the video encoding speed . as for the the front side bus question amd chips have and intregrated memory controller at a front side bus of 1600 MHZ

 ATI ownz nvidias base in the lower end, nvidia wins medium end, ATI comes back and pwnz them in the hi end

I really depends on your applications...if you are into alot of gaming and video editing then get a gig of RAM....but there are some people who just do alot of spread sheet work and really don't need more than 128 MB ( for Win 98 OS) and 256 MB (for Win XP).
