no lies here now.... post your halo gripes..... even people with 9700 pro and 3ghz get lag with halo... you are not cutting off your testicles in admitting your pc plays SLOOO. The xbox played halo horribly to. It is not a matter of speed, or the fact the halo uses "per pixel vetrex and pixel shader processing" the fact is that halo SUX when it comes to peformance.
Doom 3 alpha's bathroom map played better than halo by FAR. i got 30-40 fps when looking at a 15 000 polygon demon with HHIII res textures on his skin [ dooms performance problem is that the big maps use alot of RAM ] , in halo Master Chief is pretty damn low poly. The textures are low res, bump mapping is rarely used and it LAGS randomly....
the developers are giving all kinds of excues, and they still have not fixed the lag after 3 patches. This is unacceptable for a game with the potential Halo has...... if Epic and Atari had gotten the same project we would have seen something different .
I propose we start a movement... to spam the developers to make Halo's game liscense OPEN SOURCE so that people can rip the same sound and story to a new game engine, re-do the textures and give us a GAME not a comic book.
now.. somebody find out the email address of the Bungie people...

Hoss.You might have an idea.But yuh also not making sense.you talking to gatt ppl.only a few ppl know how to program far less for C++.And making Halo open source?they will only do that if they run out of money or sumthing.Halo is still the sh!t

my PIII 850 mhz + 8500 128mb didn't like it.... looking at the same object got me from 60-5-15-60 all over again .

Beats me as to why it's running badly.
But as to your graphics gripes,remember that xboxers were playing this thing over 2 years ago.The graphics are obviously dated despite whatever upgrades they tried to give it.

i get nearly 7000 3d marks on this PIII! i beat the 5200, mx440,mx460, geforce 3 ti 200 and all of them are on faster cpus

i also get more fps than you in doom

well I had the same probs you are talking about in Halo....I got really bad Frame rates
radeon 9700
p4 2.0
1024 Ram
All i did was update my video card's drivers and HALO playes great...no probs in SP and MP runs perfect no lag.
And bungie is going to release some mod tools...so i'd like to see what kind of dred mods people will come out with, with Halo being such a sturdy FPS.
O well...there's my input hope it helps Trinither..............

another reason why you also been sticking...the problem is also in-game...theres alotta FoAKing things going on in stages like assault on the control room or halo slowing down the fps to nothing....or simply crashing the game

looks good enough
