GTA IV too violent for ChicagoWindy City gets wind upBy Nick Farrell: Tuesday, 22 April 2008, 8:28 AMAN ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN on Chicago buses to peddle the new Grand Theft Auto IV game has been pulled after a local telly station bosses considered them too violent. The advertisements for the game were pulled when the local Fox news station pondered if they were such a good idea while coppers deal with a rash of shootings. However, according to Games Politics, the adverts didn't actually show anything violent. They just had pictures of the characters from the game along with the name GTA IV.The move has lead to cries of bias against the Chicago Transport authority. The CTA is apparently happy with ads for R-rated movies and controversially allowed an advertising campaign for booze that appeared to be targeting teens.Another irony is that the CTA is popping around to the government, cap in hand, because it is fast running out of cash. Maybe a good advertising campaign might help it out a bit.Might we suggest "GTA IV: too tough for Chicago"?
