Well, its official. According to reports the Scouring of the Shire will not be a part of The Return of the King. Peter Jackson never even shot the scenes for the sub-plot. Also, for the theatrical version, Christopher Lee's scenes has been cut. Those of you who never read the books will not be able to see the further exploits of Saruman and his ultimate end.

Old news Talon,that's been confirmed 2 years now.
The part in FotR where Frodo looks into the water and ses the Shire burning?Peter Jackson confirmed from even then that that was his tribute to the Scouring and that he had no intentions of ever filming it.

Dread Movie
I going Christmas Day first one in Movie Town for those who ent see FOTR and TT Movie Towne showing it for $20 back to back.

But u know what will be real dread if deh make de prequel to these movies u know how Sauron was a fallen angel. u'll think they will make it?

Well that's not far from the truth as he was one of the original Maiar to be corrupted by Melkor's hatred of the Valar. If anything before the Hobbit is made it will have to be a 3 part movie of the Simarillion.

Not a chance.The Silmarillion could never be covered in a three part movie.Especially if one wished to capture the essence of the battles.
The War of Wrath,Dagor Bragollach,The Fall of Gondolin all make Pelennor Fields look like a friendly skirmish.
Silmarillion would be better done in a television series though even then it would take a lot of creative writing to really change the style of the Silmarillion from a story being related to something that is unfolding.

That would be nice since:
Silmarillion characters>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.

Olorin wasn't the top maiar, he was the wisest
i doubt most will be able to keep track of the ppl in the Silmarillion if it was made a tv series or movie
the battles too big, it would take serious graphics to do it right
if anything it has to be made a movie, it is much more epic than the trilogy, it wouldn't be the same if it's on tv
the whole lluvatar thing might cause some religious controversy as well, so the have a fine line to thread
I DON'T WANT PETER JACKSON TO MUTALATE THE SILMARILLION, thas the main reason

anyway, i can't wait for the ROTK, but i think i may watch it only once
cuz i doh wanna support Peter Jackson,
thas when he makes it lame, which he will, so i'll watch it once just to see the characters come to life
they may come as zombies but at least i'll see their poor imitation

how much you wanna bet that arwen gonna take up half that movie??!!
she appear in the first one, all she did was sit down and get shocked a bit when she saw aragorn
no saving Frodo, no scene next to a random waterfall
in the second one, she was even there
i don't even think she was mention except maybe once
so when we finally actually meet her in the third, i sure if they could extend so much from nothing, they could strech that like hell
