Ok I haven't seen it yet, but my sis has and i take her word when it comes to movies

Those who have read a book called Shogun, can pretty much say that TLS borrowed HEAVILY from Shogun, but shogun was still better overall :)

Uh dude,Shogun is a fictional account of real events:

Toranaga = Tokugawa Ieyasu
The Dictator Goroda = Oda Nobunaga
The Taiko = Toyotomi Hideyoshi
Blackthorne = Will Adams
Lord Ishido = Lord Ishida
City of Yedo = Edo(modern day Tokyo)

I loved it

I actually cried at the end

Something about being the last man standing struck a nerve

The way of the samurai is a beautiful thing

Fool its about him fighting with "The Last Samurai" because he can identify with them and found solace in their ways.Use your blasted brain and stop nitpckin nah jesus.

Allyuh supposed to be the leaders of tomorrow?

Btw there have been people who have been torn up worse than him by automatic fire and have lived to tell the tale.

*nods at Bob* There are guys who had their chest and body LEVEL my machinegun fire and LIVED to tell about it. Never underestimate a human's instinct to survive.

Now I've watched all the previews, cutscenes, reviews etc etc etc and I've come to the conclusion:

One word.

Cable.

Wait for it to come on cable. Not gonna bother going cinema here. Now don't get me wrong but its just a 'thing' I have against Tom Cruise and I'm not being ignorant of the movies portrayl of the saumari and their way of life but I'd rather get my first look on cable THEN organise to see it in bigscreen, surround sound comfort. :)

It was truly an awesome movie....i owe tom cruise an apology. I thoght he would butcher Japanese culture.....but instead his movie showed as good an account of Bushido than we could ever have asked for.
