Greetings all, I'm looking for a firewall that works exceptionally and has the available features I want. Now I use ZoneAlarm and that's cool but I also like BlackICE but there are other features and customizations I want so I am ask all you netwrk gurus etc for what will work extraordinary at blocking intruder, malious content the standard etcetera and allow me to choose what apps I want to access the net and also see the posts active and what is using it. Thanks in advance.

to be straight forward with you no firewall will keep you 100% safe whether it is za, backice etc but if you really want protection u can stick with za. I advise you not to run more than one firewall on your system because this would actually increase your chances of being attacked

I would go with Kerio Personal Free Baego recomended it........ I tried it and its good !

i suggest posting a ninja at all your own ports and den fugget ah bout it
lol

za is good, but a fire wall alone isnt gonna save you

practicin good and safe internet habits alongside a firewall is the key

along side getting to know your OS inside out so that you can reach a point where yu know what services you need running on which ports and then just kill the ones yu dont need

I think Outpost works for me, monitors ports you see what 's using it, it logs a lot of things I can easily scroll through plus if you use applications that have adware (but you still need them) like DAP, iMesh, RealPlayer etcetera it blocks pop-ups among other things. Plug-ins can be added but it apparently uses a bit of resources when filtering packets but I don't mind so I use it, anyways thanks for thew advice all.

The best damn firewall I came across in awhile.

ODC try all the Firewalls that make the top list and see which one is right for you. It's time consuming but at least you could give sound advise after your ordeal.... :user:

Crixx has some valid advise to, it's all about good habits, software and knowlege man !!!!!
