lol but in an encounter a sniper must be prepared all those things even if it means firing with his pistol or rifle (although the sniper rifle dont make sence in close range only in unreal)but i was trained for close range combat and sniping combat so i will be fully prepared for those kind of ppl..

but it is far more realistic than in sof (most games cannot accurately simulate real world sniping)

RS doesn't really have much wide open stages where a sniper can hide and if necessary run
while it is more challenging, it is better to use an assault rifle with a mini scope, which isn't really sniping when you think about it, that is just assaulting and shooting at long range

ppl snipe cuz they cant assault....I mean they tired of running in an someone killing them so they snipe...especially in COD...but those who can assault such as myself an a few others would easily kill these snipers by using our head an doing the thing or going somewhere that the snipers wont expect and come on top

Farcry is a real hard game to play
especialy to snipe in in multiplayer

sniping=boring
and yeah I used to snipe alot in cs but that was because lpbs had the advantage in close quarter battles.

Seriously people hate on snipers for different reasons. Usually its the power of the sniper rifle in some games which would make them seem overpowered and perhaps the map design which in some cases can make the sniper rifle the only choice if you want to expedite your killcount. For example In UT all you needed to do was hit the upperthird of the body to get a headshot and if you had an amp you almost had something like a hitscan version of the redeemer(well that one kinda goes to the mini w/amp but you get the idea) Hell in that game you could own with it at close range as well as long as you had fairly good aim, not to mention it had an insane firing rate. Then you had maps like Face where you camp on top a tower in outerspace and spawn rape players on the other side of the map. In some other shooters all you need to do is hit any part of the body with the sniper(while the guy talking the bullet has full hp) and its +1 for you. Also people may hate it because its simply point and click and the guy in your scope is a goner and you're doing it from far away while the other poor sap is working his ass off to get in close so what the sniper is doing "doesn't require skill".
It all depends on the game, weapon balance, maps etc. I've seen games where the sniper rifle was nerfed because it was "too powerful".

in games sniping is not an art, it is a compromise

sniper maps/matches also for the most part suck

if you cannot at least understand why I say that then you don't know .......

that being said

if you cannot defeat a sniper then you are simply not good enough

otherwise play a more balanced game

just stop complaining
