Okay I making this to the point.
Firstly, I know AC has been short on funding and thius can't provide too great a cosplayer area for their events, so this thread ain't for me to bitch about it all.
Congrats to all the winners, depsite I was asleep during judging and thus could'nt participate. Sucks for me as I was later told my costume was the most unique seen in any AC and had great potential for first placings. Oh well, better luck for me next time.
There were some great costumes and I give props to their makers. If you are reading this thread, speak up and let your work be heard.
My main argument here is the winners of AC6 and 7...The Matrix costumes. Now I KNOW the Matrix phenom. has been a bit of mindless, zombie craze by blank trini's but it makes me wonder WHAT the judges judged on...
Syle? Creativity? Or just plain: "It looking madd up!..."

Someone with a cleverly sewed black jacket came in and won over true blue anime costumes. I mean video games tie to anime and Jap culture in many ways but the whole Matrix ideal has NOTHING tying with anime in ANY form! Much props to the Zelda twins, Nina, Naruto and InyuYasha players-the true veterans of local cosplay since AC2.
I thought this was utterly unfair to the other cosplayers that they lost to this person-whomever he was. I can see many hours of work and toil gone relatively unnoticed. Now I dunno how these judges judged-I can't read minds. But I just hope they didn't judge on current phenom. style for the costumes and by relation, anime character, portrayl, crowd approval and completion of the costume, because in my opinion and MANY of the other cosplayers, this guy should have been placed a bit lower down the rankings, as his costume was rather off topic and was REPEATED from the previous AC.
