Saw this doccumentary tonight and it really brought some VERY interesting points on the whole culture and outlook on American society. I am NOT trying to start some anti-country or bashment thread so Andro-beck out with the Communist Russian etc etc nonsense. I warning early. Take a look at this great doccumentary if you can...post your opinions...let's see what you've learned or knew already?

i kinda figured America was the way they portrayed it, but it had some unique points raised either way
VERY dred show, especially that cartoon history thing, lol paranoid white ppl funny( i jus joking eh, nothing personal)
it was a bit bias against america, but the used facts so most of what they were saying about america being a country of Fear coud very easily be true
I recommend it, it's an educational exp

the movie was a great
it clearly illustrates and portrays the REAL america(though it was somewhat biased)
you could clearly see the point of view of bin Laden
now u noe noe why he hates amereica so much
and dat is just de beginning

after looking at dat movie you really cud see why bin Laden justifies his hatred for america
america isn't exactly all rosey posey as it is portrayed by the media
i can't see y ppl wud want 2 go there

Kayode already explained this piece of crap

Moore's conclusions are biased, he twists history for his own ends and he only presents the facts that support his view or that he can twist to support his view

oh, didn't he tell you that france and russia were the major suppliers of Iraq military equipment
no he said america was, according to calsberg's post

dispite the fact that Iraq's air defence system was french made
their air force uses russian and french jets
their army uses mostly russian and french equipment (you ever see an Iraqi soldier back when saddam was in power with an M-16?)

and the Iraq nuclear weapons program in the 1980's that was destroyed by the Israelies had french and russian scientests ( who the hell uses nuclear power for civilian purposes, no one, it's only use is military) ,this was at the height of Saddams use of chemical weapons in the Iran Iraq war (this is documented fact by the international community)

the us equipment in saddam's army was negligeble/insignificant (some outdated artillery)

btw france had their own agenda for Iraq's oil, as did russia
bet Moore didn't say that

and Iraq does quite a bit of business in weapons sales and since the US wiped out saddams military I am pretty certain france's export of military hardware, as well as the economically "troubled" russia, took a big hit especially since their exported weapon systems are proven to be shit compared to those of the US (all nations who are "hostile" to the US uses Russian and French export stuff, which is of less quality than what their own military uses)

bet moore didn't say that

bet moore failed to mention that the money for afganistan was given to afganistans and Osama got "some" since he was fighting the russians for the freedom of afgans (supposedly)
most of that money went to the afgans as a whole who were defending themselves from aggression
their was no reason at the time to say no to osama, you can't blame somebody for not reading the future

I also bet Moore failed to say that most of the South East Asians killed were North Vietnamise who were in South vietnamise while the two nations were at war; and since they were armed I doubt that the NV's were innocent civialians
(yes the SV democratic government might have been corrupt but it was chosen by the people and the north was just as corrupt)

yes the US supported Iraq against Iran and vici versa, because if one was allowed to conquer the other, the middle east countries would have been under threat of an eventual aggressor, who would have the combined might of the two countries and be emboldened with the fact that they would have no equal in the region, with very weak neighbours to the south who are quite rich in oil

bet More failed to mention the politics of any of the situatios he mentiond, or explain the realites of internaional relations with you and how it is applied to the problems of the world

and I am sure that all of you confirmed all of Michael Moore's facts and conclusions by reading other sources,
doing your own research, through unbiased sources

or is it that you are just believing another liar, no better than those he accuses, if not worse

Or more to the point, America would have had to contend with a stronger country from which to buy/steal oil...

Or two stronger countries, since the wars that America helped create and maintain between the two countries have destabilized them both and made it much easier to manipulate/influence Iran, and bomb/plunder Iraq.

Stop with the goodwill benevolence business. America is NOT some kinda global hero in this.

whose to decide whats biased and unbiased?
whose to decide whats right and whats wrong?
whose to decide whats good and whats bad?
whose to decide whats the truth and whats a lie?

is it not essentially majority
or whose influential
or from whose perspective it is

isn't beauty in the eye of the beholder

the point is....your ideas, views and speculations differ from mine or anyone's elses'
hence, wat u believe 2 be true and fact may not be actually so

but since I and someone of opposing views who happens to have a better graps of world economics, politicts and international relations both think that moore is wrong then maybe he is just wrong
besides I can easily find fault with the facts he presented as they are incomplete as compared to documented facts, ie documented by the international community

Kayode thinks america is bad
I think they are not that bad

but we both think that Moore is an idiot

and as I said if he is the only source of you great wealth of information
then you are all too gullible to be taken seriously with regards to such a topic

I am not saying to take my word for it
but I am sure that my more experienced opposite would give a more than credible accounting of what Moore says is a good bit of crap

and you would remember your own words before preaching form the book of moore
for all you know he might just be trying to make a buck off of all of this

after all he is an American, right......
