well my thing is movies are gettin lamer and lamer and the book that the movie is based on is much better than the movie or anyother book in that case. but a good book and some coffee is the real scene

the best books usually dont have movies (i can only think of maybe three killer books that had movies made after them) because they are long and complex and generally just TOO GOOD to go on a movie screen and be messed up in any form or fashion by either compromises made to the plot or people or bad acting.

nah hoss...yuh cyah be saying that...
...yes it is true that when you read a book you are forced to imagine what the scenario is...
...but...
...when you watch movies it all depends on the individual, cuz some ppl can recreate the scenarios...

I love to read books
They are better than any movie at anytime
They make you think about life and makes you imagine about what things could be like in the future....

Children of a different generation
Everything is spoonfed to you with zero persuasion
Like mongrels you lap it up with no hesitation

PICK UP A DAMN BOOK!!!

OR DOWNLOAD AN EBOOK OR SOMETHING!!!

Alot of the movies you praise as being good are quite mediocre when compared to their paper parents.

The thing about movies when converted from book is that they have to put it 2 or 3hrs long but since the books are very long n offer great detail, they tend 2 skip scenes to try and make it fit the time frame and therefore make the movie not as interesting to those that have already read the book.

Well as ppl should know the LOTR waz actually six books orginally, jus someone decided to make it into three books, also since alot of the book actually has alot of stuff not necessary, for example the books had quite abit of singing n poems in it and also quite abit of detail to the history and places in middles earth. So when these are cut out it makes the book shorter which is easier to make to movie although they still had to make noticeable yet seemingly small cuts and a few changes, example is in FOTR they skipped a whole part concernin the old forest and tom bombadilo (hope i spelt it right), yet those parts were not necesary to the storyline. so it it stuff like this that made it easier to convert it and still keep the story line flowing, otherwise the movie tried to keep as close as possible to the book.

well then how do you explain the butchery that occured in the Two Towers, with the inclusion of the Night Elves as part of the defending force in the battle of Helm's Deep, and the killing off of the character Haldir???
