where did you find that out?  we not sure exactly when he did leave , but we know that he was slated to be 4th hokage until everyone realised he was an evil mofo

He was very vague when he said it, but in the episode where he spoke to Kabuto, he said it's been more than 10 years since he left (Naruto was 13 at that time)and when he met naruto he only knew he was the nine tails kid after they fought. So i figured he left right before the fox appeared in konoha.

He wanted to become the 4th but Sarutobi didn't choose him. He left after the fourth hokage was chosen, as Kaguya-Kimimaro pointed out.

  For a story about ninja constantly at war people don't die as much as they should , kishi should pick up the slack a bit , he has alot of expendable chars he leaves lying around doing nothing, them two jounins with Asuma i don't even know their names .

Well speculation on who's the parents of Konohamaru has long come and gone... I think the general belief was that he is not asuma's kid but rather nephew... cyah rem the reasoning there though.... As for Kurenai... well we know she tisic over him but... I mean yuh really wanna be with someone who would ditch his kid? (if he is konohamaru daddy)...

Konohamaru MIGHT be asuma son.... no indication of Kurenai and Asuma having a close enough relationship to have had children  and the two of them i think , never were seen in the same room as Konohamaru thus far.. No indication was made of Sarutobi having children other than Asuma.. I don't even think we were made aware of Asuma bieng his son until the recent arc besides the likeness.

 With Asuma dead, and his secret revealed to shika of who the true 'King' in Konoha is , we now have a new , and probably supremely important part of the puzzle of the Naruto story. The next story arc, after naruto completes his jutsu , will probably focus around this character and the village once again . Akatsuki is collecting tailed beasts at breakneck pace, they already have up to the 3 tails at least, soon they will turn their eyes on Konoha and Naruto , both for the fact that they pose a threat to their plans , and they need Kyuubi.
     Also ,  the whole thing surrounding Danzo and Sai has shown that the Hokage is not the only powerful individual in Konoha , or the fire country for that matter . Other people may wield equal or greater power , and seek to wrest control of the village from her ,or undermime her plans. 

 The big question now is , who is the King? Think of the word, it connotes leadership, but we know its not the hokage , he is important , powerful but needs help , and his life will affect the future of Konoha . Our contenders are :
 Naruto ( in first place ) , surely will become extremely important eventually , is strong but is not nearly strong enough to stand up to akatsuki , may one day become hokage , but as it stands the only thing he commands is an army of kage bunshin .

 Danzo : (runner up) commanding his own squad of Anbu , the 'roots' (sounds like ganja planters too) who 'support the great tree that is Konoha' . He seeks control of the village, and was willing to contact orochimaru to achieve his ends , to incite a  new invasion of Konoha and then betray him (kill sasuke at some point, his body would become progessivly weaker as he approaches the point to need a new body, kill him? ) . All this reeks of a possible revolution  underway behind the scenes . But it is unlikely he is the 'King' as Asuma would not want him defended , and probably would have told Tsunadae if he knew .

 Unknown ninja : someone waiting in the wings that we do not know of , or have not considered ... like Sasuke maybe? Konoha's future will be in danger if Oro takes his body .Oro himself will be near unstopable , he could assasinate lots of Konoha ninja himself ,steal their jutsu , then invade when the village is too weak to stop him . Or he could kill the akatsuki leader himself and assume control of it , all 9 of them plus his army of sound ninja will sevarely F*** up anyone , Ero sennin and Tsunadae caah stop dat. And thats not even considering if he can use the bijuu .

 
 It likely isn't shikamaru as while he is hokage material and all , the village will live without him , he isn't that powerful presently .  As an aside , with Asuma dead, we would see if he had any chilren etc. probably next ep will be a funeral.

Damn....asuma died and here every1 thinking he would barely survive. Damn those waste ah time chunnin/jounin he was with!! waste ah title on dem fellas!! but moving on...those are some good theories but IMO doubt naruto would be the king hes talking about (but knowing those writers he just might be) and danzo, he more likely cuz he prolly got more connections in konoha than the 3rd and 4th hokage combined and hes really moving like ah ninja...real stealthy and in de shadows kinda way. Shikamaru would be a good candidate for the "king" but he just needs more powerful jutsus

The leader is probably the 4tth hokage's twin brother...........i also heard dat fillers r lastin till the 2nd quarter of nex yr.......but the episodes goin to be about the genins trainin. at least 1 episode per genin, but it mainly goin to revolve around sasuke.....jus a rumor dat goin around on d net............

y does everyone think that the king is a single person?? my theory is that the king is not a person, but the entire village, the Village of Konoha. Asuma's comparison about the king thingy is to the game of shougi, which is a game similar to chess in that "one player" must attack and defeat the enemy king in order to win with "the many types of pieces" available in his arsenal , while simultaneously protecting their own "king". In this context, the "one player" would be the hokage, "the many types of pieces" are the ninjas that the hokage will use to fight with, and the "king" is thus the village that they all want to protect......."The player" strategizes(much like the hokage) and uses "different pieces" with different abilities(much like the different types of ninjas) to defeat the enemy "king"(much like takin down the enemy village). Also, the hokage in serious situations comes out to fight, and this could possibly be the Queen piece. The queen is the king's number one protector,being the strongest piece and the piece closest to the king, much like the hokage being the villages number one protector bc he is the strongest ninja there.

another way of relating it is that to a war between ninja villages. How does one village win the other in a war? it wins by the destruction of the enemy village. how do u win in shougi/chess? the annihilation of the enemy's king.It makes sense bc asuma said that the ninjas can be related to the pieces in shougi, even the hokage.It's chapter 316, read it. The village in this context is meant to mean everything, the village itself and it's inhabitants, everything and everyone........This is my theory(which i think is pretty good), i hope it makes sense to u, i cant explain well.....if anyone has any other theories or support/flaws in my theory, plz post!!!!!
