The track IR isn't new technology.
But its being fully implemented with the sequel to operation flashpoint, Armed Assault.
Here is a video of track ir in use. Its unfortunate that only simluation games like gtr2 and flash point support it.
I would have really liked to see it in combat, but this video really blew me away.
