Ok ok, most well established comic characters have very long histories that have been changed and ret conned and so on and so forth for very long. Well there is stuff that is VERY interesting and really cool story arcs that have occured, this thread is to shed light on stuff you may have come across and other people dont know.

Honestly i am creating this as an excuse to bring to light something super super duper interesting that i just came across.

Many peopel know the story of Hal Jordan, the alien Abin sur, upon dying, sent his ring out to find a suitable replacement from earth.

Its know that Hal Jordan was the choice, it may be also known that the second choice would have been Guy gardner, who was later made a lantern in any case.

Whats the interesting little known fact you ask then?
What would have been the greatest thing ever in comics thats what!!
IN canon A line DC continuity, as in , not ret conned, not going to change.

Hal jordan was actually the SECOND choice for the ring.

OMFG take a guess at who was the first choice?? Just make a willllllllllddddddddddddddd guess!!!!

Just off the topic...well not quite

In case you guys didn't know, Robert Downey Jr. is gonna play shell head (Iron Man) in 2008.
I personally think that is a good choice, especially due to the fact that both characters have substance-based problems and so-on and forth...no news yet on who's gonna play Mandarin

Here's another:

Wolverine was intended to literally be a mutated wolverine, evolved to its prime by the High Evolutionary. This concept was immediately thrown out the window when Stan Lee outright rejected a similar approach for the origins of Spider-Woman, and the editors came to realise that such an origin story for Wolverine would never fly with him.
