Confusion
« on: November 01, 2006, 02:53:30 PM »
Well, i suppose to get some moneys some time this month , but i in a real panic cause i doh know what to do. i had a PS1 and ah sell it. ah had a n64 and ah sell it. ah have a xbox now, but ah doh want to sell it.
the box giving some problems, it playing dvds perfectly but it really sticking with the games. first console to give so much problem sticking with the games. but i only have about 5 games, nfs under 1, p. o persia 1, wreckless- crap, nba 200something, and a fighting thing. i want to start to but more games as they get cheaper, but that doh make sense if it sticking so much.
Anybody know what does cause that? it expensive to fix? make more sense to buy a 360? modify the box? or buy a modified ps2? or jus wait for the ps3 and modify the b----?
ah doh know. and then this wii. is a long time since a play a zelda game on the 64, but it was good times, twilight princess looking good, but is a whole set  of mario games and all kind a games rated 10 and under. how much mario and glover ah go play?
and anybody know wey ah could get a real cheap ps1? cause ah did not finish "vagrant story" and that game did going real good but hard - best ps1 game.
360 have 1 rpg:ten 1st p. shooter. i feel is 500for the ps3.

Firstly the game cube has tons of games not just zelda and mario (the wii is just a new controller for it). Metroid and soul calibur 2 on the cube so it's not lacking in games for the mature audiance.

Secondly, buying a ps1 is a wasteof time since they have perfectly good emulators for the PC that play the same cd's. Not only that but you can play ps1 games on a ps2.

As regards your XBOX I can't really offer any advice since i don't own one myself but between a PC, a PS2 and a Game Cube I don't really miss the XBOX.

To maximize your gaming experience I would suggest the Ps2 and get an emulator for your old N64 games but that is just MY opinion.

Hope that helps a little.

hmmmm i own a box however i agree wit AIDS.
you eh need to buy them ole consoles to play boss games, my old athlon 2000 used to run n64/ps1 games real nice with emulators

for the box, carry it by zero media mod it, and tell them fix it up fuh yuh, it worth it. and yuh go get 4 free games "back-ups" of coarse :D
then get slayer's autoinstaller v2.5 and use it, will play a $4!7 load more than DVDs now. ^_^

I think JK Entertainment has the best track record with modding. I haven't modded anything by them yet but from what i have seen and heard they do good work.

Actually, I think I'll carry my cube there this month cause I got a lil' extra cash to spend.

Original poster. Get a PS2 and mod it.
Good luck even finding a PS3 yet alone modding it. You can mod your 360 if you want. But buying a next gen system and modding it means no online play....and online is where next gen is....or you f*cked.
do AIDS seen. I eh want to stereotype the kinda gamer you are, but go PS2. You go say its the best in the world. Go with it

it really make more sense to buy a ps2 and mod it. because right now it still have plenty good games on the ps2 like final fantasy and god of war- but i thinking it would cost about 2000 to buy one already modified from nanan's or jk. is about 130 us but the shipping and custums will make it up to nearly the same thing ent?
is shipping a console cheaper in the long run? yuh could wait for some family to bring it for you but it don't feel right sending people money jus so. ps3 too expensive to buy the system for 600 US. because yuh can't give nobody 600US to buy that for you and bring it, and to add shipping to that would be murder. games for that ranging from 60 us so when the trini extortion start it would be too expensive to buy games local, and no matter  how cheap EB is shipping still going to kill it unless you buying in bulk, and when will i ever have money to buy in bulk.

Rather than buying it from Nanans or Jk look around and see if you get one second hand. People always selling consoles on the forum (most of the time already modified and with mem cards and controllers).

Even if you get one that not modified it would be cheaper than bringing in one. In my experience with the PS2 though the slimline gives problems after a while with the mod. I have one of the first PS2's that came out and I modified it since I got it and I have no probs with it up to today. I even play jap games on it.

is there a big cost difference between the normal ps2 and the slimline? and also, i had the n64 first. and that had memory capabilites, so when i bought the ps1, i was kind of shocked to know that i had to buy memory cards for a hundred dollars. i didn't and was forced to play out all my games in one sitting.
i  dont want to sound odd, but what does 'chakura' mean?

yeah - you should never do that. swelling of fingers and wrist and general fatigue and what not, eye strain dry mouth. the longest i ever went straight was with vagrant story - 19 hours. then i was sick like a dog.
but anyhow, the one memory card that i did buy, stopped working after about a month, in the middle of my fight with the invisible man vs.snake and i was almost winning. But does that usually happen with the playstaion mem. cards?

Do you have a Dreamcast for sale?
and if ya do...do you have Blue Stinger?

well a similar situation occurred 2 years ago. When my friend and I was playing Final Fantasy VII and the memory card had an error on it. Maybe it spoiled due to being pulled out whilst saving or perhaps it could just be a case of technological bad luck....we'll never know dude....It's SONY's fault

ah doh have no game cube. the only person i know with that is a lil boy and another big boy who too old to be playing mario.
people buy consoles second-hand that often. i don't know but, everybody always have a horror story about buying second hand. i sold the n64 to a girl cause it was sticking with some games. (not badly ) and i wanted to escape with some money after my 2ooo output.

dred gamecube never boomed...
just because everyone doh have one doh mean it eh good or it wasn't successful, the game cube was highly successful in it's intended marked, the kids, there are games on the cube that would own some of similar style on the PS2 and the Xbox, as for mario, you crazy yo, and you should show some respect, mario started the home gaming, i sure the the first game many people here owned on their very first system was a mario.
And as i recall mario was a staple on the portable scene, on the Gameboy.

Basically if it wasn't for solid games like those we would have alot more failed systems besides the Saturn and the Virtual Boy and thing. (Swan, and something portable NeoGeo had come to mind too but i cyar remember the name)
And if you think mario is for kids still, go and play sunshine, that game was mad.

i can't agree with that, nintendo never got substantial 3rd party developer support, and therefore they ended up with alot of the kiddy type games- thats what nintendo are good at making.

Nintendo, the game cube has not cannot of been a success, simply because of it did not make them enough revenues.

Nintendo doesnt need third party support Kenji. Nintendo never needed third party support. You buy a nintendo for Pokemon, Zelda, Metroid and Mario.
They never suffered a loss either, their sales were lower than the XBOX and PS2 but it doesnt mean they bombed. Nintendo's sale strategy is not geared at the mass market like SONY. They are geared to specific gamers of specific games and genres. The system cost lest to manufacture and sells for less too.  where you get that info from? they were always gaining revenue. Actually after launch they put almost 6 billion dollars profit from that revenue INTO their advertising. The Wii is no different.

Back to the topic.

Do you really think you can buy a 360, Wii and PS3 out of the box and expect it to do everything they say it can? are you mad? These consoles are all online now, meaning there are weekly or monthly updates for their software. You can bet your last dollar every single PS1 and PS2 game is not going to run smoothly on the PS3 right out of the box, same with the 360 on launch. They didnt launch to just "beat the competition in sales" Everyone know where MS and SONY and Nintendo stand in sales. They launched to work out their bugs, orient their 3rd party companies with the console developers kit and produce the games they expect BEFORE the competition hits.

That way when PS3 hits the shelves, and problems arrise....and i GUARANTEE they will albeit a small percentage (same with PS2 launch and the damanged lens, same with Nintendo Gamecube launch and damaged lasers *why you thkn the purple cube is discontinued*)

To the original topic. Dont be buying one of these next gen consoles if you not online. You wont get the upgrades you need to play the games to their full potential, some not at all. They are all online based now. Why you think there are 20 and 60GB HDD's out there? to save your game? for levels alone? :/
