BOSS new cooler by Wizz (Evercool HPC-925 ICEMAN)
« on: October 30, 2006, 12:03:33 AM »
Got this bad boy at the Wizz in P.O.S.(just happened to see it up on a shelf).
http://www.evercool.com.tw/products/hpc-925.htm

It does just as the package says.

Great job with the cooling, at lower RPMs = less noise.
They had 2 more from what I saw, so get em quick.
Compatible with AMD (skt A, skt 754, skt 939) and Intel (skt 775, P4)

One drawback though.  The fan can only be mounted to blow up or down,
and not to the rear of my case, but I got 4 Thermaltake case fans so no biggie.

Keeps my Athlon 64 3500 (stock speed) at 46 degrees C idle, and 50 degrees C full load
at only 2600 RPM.  Other fans I've used needed to be at 5500 RPM or above to do the same temps.
That heat-pipe design I'm sure makes all the difference.

Looks very good indeed... but is real ballz indeed that you can't mount to blow air towards the back of the case.

But I strongly suspect that direction factor is dependant on how the cpu socket is oriented on the case. It could be just your particular board.

Wat kinda temps were you getting with the stock fan for comparision?
God is dead.

My temps used to be 50/51 degrees idle and 54/55 degrees full load,
so this cooler has made a world of difference.

The way the CPU is oriented it can only br mounted one of two ways.

Funny enough, i was there on Friday and i observed it as well. It was on top of a shelf to the left as soon as you walk through the door. I didnt take down but it was clearly visible from the ground. It looked quite interesting indeed. How much did you pay for it? I also saw some interesting water cooling solutions, but i can well imagine how much those cost there.
