not really no, he could have very well said raped by a bunch a crackers, is whatever woulda scare/irk/terrorize her the most i suppose. It was super abusive but hardly see it as racism. I find ppl ah little too touchy when it comes to the race thing yes.

so making a racist remark to refer to a specific race of men gang raping her, is not racist?

That's not it. Let me clarify myself.

In my eyes, racism exist when a person has an expressed hatred against another person or group of persons. Had he said, "I hate those niggers" or "I hope u get raped by a pack of dirty niggers" in that manner (the dirty being used could be replaced by any derogatory term) , it is a damn racist and disrespectful remark.

To me, as I see it in this context, i think he was just trying to be as hurtful and abusive towards his wife, not that he was trying to be racist. Many interpret it to be racist, but since race is the last thing on my mind when listening to the tape, I hear abusive husband, not racist.

who is also known for his racist view of jews
if he was indeed trying to be hurtful
and to him, being raped by niggers, is the worst form of rape
he could have said if a pack of men rape you then it would be your fault
which would drive fear into her
but he used niggers, to say that niggers are filthy or in some way, being raped by niggers over other race of men, would be the worst most demeaning thing in his or her or other people's eyes.

I see where you are coming from crixx. I guess I never followed on any news of him being racist to jews etc, so from that perspective, of him being a known racist, then i could see it being a racist remark. I wonder what his old pal Danny Glover had to say about this ... : )

N***** is a derogatory slur though so...putting a word before or after it doesn't really add or detract from that. We've just been desensitized to it thanks to its widespread use these days.

And yeah, listening to it doesn't shock you because of that but it doesn't make it an attack on black people either. sometimes I wish you could just sharpie racist people on the forehead as soon as you find them. I like racial stereotyping jokes alot and the occasional race joke is alright but there are lots of closet racists out there. You keep thinking that it's gonna die out with the previous generation but someone always comes along to prove you worng
