owned both...and a turbografix
SNES for me. I had the Genesis when it first came out...got the SNES later
when i saw mode 7 in full effect........i was sold.
I had Sonic, Afterburner 2, Streets of Rage, ESWAT, Shinobi and other games.....Some decent games. ESWAT i had real fun with. Got so good at the game i coulda go through the game without getting hit except for the last boss fight.

As for the SNES......when Super Mario World cameout......talk done.

ppl used to boast about the Mortal Kombat for Genesis having all the fatalities...but with @ss graphics like that, i go stick with the SNES version anyway. I had them for both systems

i think real memories were built with the snes for alot of people
genesis was great for alotttt of games! loved road rash and mortal and streets on genesis

but super street fighter, then street fight alpha 1 and 2!! omfg!
donkey kong! super mario world! MARIO KART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! star fox! stunt race fx
WRESTLE MANIA!! OMFG!! SO SWEET! top gear! legend of zelda *sigh*, PRIMAL RAGE!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! killer instinct! mortal!

i think alot of us develepod our gamer hands sweating street fighter and other fighting game son snes.
ringing moves till yuh get corns, an yuh eh quittin, just cuttin them corns off and sweatin.
Learn how to bend yuh thumb back so yu playin on de ball of yuh thumb to reduce pain an increase sweatage, isa man learn to play with my toes an all.
Snes controll is my all time favourite. Any 6 button variation of the snes controller is the god of controlls!
Snes stood well against even the playstation untill nintendo brought fourth the 64 for more ownage.

I know i forget some bess games, buh i go edit later. Pole position fx was another realll big game

This isn't even a contest, to be honest. SNES, all the way.

However, I find the Sega Genesis to have its own rustic charm. Namely, games like Sonic the Hedgehog and Mortal Kombat (the first time I've actually seen an MK game was on this system).

ChronoTrigger (Trump. Card.), Terranigma, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Tetris Attack, Super Metroid, TMNT: Turles in Time, Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past, Earthbound, ActRaiser 2 (a SEVERELY underrated game), Kirby's Superstar, Rockman & Forte, Sunset Riders Starfox and Super Mario RPG

vs

Shining Force 2, Sonic's 1 through Sonic and Knuckles, Vectorman 1 +2, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Shinobi III, The Revenge of Shinobi and Shadow Dancer, Contra: Hard Corps, E-Swat, Rolling Thunder AND GUNSTAR -FREAKING- HEROES.

....oh yeah...and erm...Zero Wing. (All Your Base Are Belong to Us) >_>

...I can't pick. God damn. I don't know how anyone could.
What can you do to end the hunger?
It's no surprise that many will die with the coming shortage of food
When there is no grain to feed the butchered cows
When there is nothing to feed yourselves...
Then you will see that money can't be eaten.

Ways I thought there would be SOMEONE in Gatt that would defend the ole Genesis -_-
LOL
I mean personally I prefer SUPER NES..
but there were some games that either ran better or played fun on the SEGA...
such as Vectorman, NBA Jam , Eathworm Jim...oh and Flashback: the Quest for Identity ran better on the Genesis than on Super NES...
Ah well pressure for the Genesis! ^_^

To tell you the truth, the SNES vs. Genesis wars were the glory days of gaming.
I get a bigger feel of nostalgia and excitement from that period than any game they could possibly bring out now.

pretty much NEO. Rarely do you come accros a game nowadays that kinda makes you all tingly inside again. Like when you were freaking out waiting for your copy of Final Fantasy 2 and 3 or Contra Alien wars, Mortal Kombat 2, Streets of Rage, the FIRST Sonic, Toejam and Earl LOL......good times.

SNES fuh shizzle! even tough i had ah genesis i never really get plenty games for although the games i had on it was sonic and sonic2 was bad.

ahhh those were the real days qui!
these kids today and their 'save games' remember when you had to finish a game in one\two concecutive sittings?
dred i know mario had save game fuction, but yuh eh know my mudda and the current bill was like loco-weed for she.
I remember havin' street fighter II turbo, and Killer Instinct was ah real bess game, allyuh remember the sky and hell levels? sky level was so short if you hit ah man with fulgore rush move (i cyar remember it name) yuh done win!
And i never get to fight with Eyedol. i feel ah go make ah try again qui.

and the SNES is where i first learn bout cheat codes/secret codes

u,u,d,d,l,r,l,r,a,b,start, select - i think that was cooler stuff in mk3 and mk3u?

Geez, Louise....not a single vote for Sega?

Not really surprising why, actually. Sega had a three-button control that sticks your hand sometimes when you wring with it, and a weaker graphical and sound system than the SNES. I think the biggest joke about the Sega Genesis were voices. Grainy like rice. Remember the 900 MB system you could have built with all of the peripherals for the Genesis? I mean, geez. And, as EGM had put it, it would still have grainy voices. Pssh. They're compensating for something.

Well, I remember the first time I played a Genesis and it was when I had a NES. People seem to be forgetting that Genesis was initially the competition for the NES. Then Nintendo later released the SNES in response. So, anyway, I was floored by the Genesis when I first played it. Seeeeeeeeeeegaaaaaaaa. Sonic was the $hit back then. I would always go to my friend's house and play it but no damn saves. I always got close to beating it but never had the time to finish it. Then I saw the football game, Joe Montana Sportstalk Football. Real digitized sound with play by play. That was un-freakin-believable back then. It was good enough to make a Trini boy want to learn about football. And then I got my SNES. It was close to launch and I got the full package with 2 controls and Super Mario World. That game was something else. Both my brother and I beat that game. I think if I compared income versus games owned, that period when I had my SNES would be something of a mystery. I had so many games and basically little to no income. I would constantly be trading games or re-selling them just to get some of the newer ones. Family helped occasionally with Donkey Kong Country and NBA Live '05 among others. So, for me, it has to be the SNES just because it was one of the few consoles I had for its entire lifetime and played many many games for it. I missed some of the classics as I am sure some people did but I plan to get those later on for the holy trinity: GBA/DS/Wii.
