Ah ok cool, just got a PS3 after mutliple RROD on 360s. Trying my best to avoid another failure on my new PS3 lol. Any tips?Btw is it better to leave it horizontal or vertical? I am seein mixed reports online lol
As a precaution...I know at least 2 people who have left their ps3 unplugged (or hard-switched off) for long periods of time, and on turning it on, it did not read discs. For me, I always have power running through it (standby mode).I always leave discs in mine also.I've never experienced an overheat, and I've used the PS3 for long periods of time with AC off... I've even left it on folding@home overnight with AC off and no problems.O also, if you experience a system crash, and you will, most of the time just touching the power button for 3 seconds will turn it off (you'll hear 1 beep for power off.)If you do so and the system light keeps blinking in the shut down phase, touch and hold the power button for 10secs, u will hear the first and then a second beep...that shuts the system down regardless of state.Do NOT shut the system down using the hard switch behind..that has also been a reason for bluray drive failure, especially when the system is in a "frozen state".
