Ok ive never heard anyone complain about ps3 failing so i cant tell u failure rates but yes some demos are blocked via region but apprentice showed me u can make a second account for thos regions and download them lmao

. I gonna make my Uk account later. About gettin a ps3 the major titles are coming out from around August/September so nows a good time to buy

.

On a side note WTMC at the WTMC thread being locked XD ( i didnt have anywhere to put this )

Wow this is one thing I am now reading and didn't realize you could do on the ps3.....install linux without having to mod the system.....and play xvid etc on it? Is this really true? Damn!

woodyear....the failure rate on ps3 is less than 1% as of now... same for the Wii...

As for region free demos/downloads...they are infact region free...

The difference with ps3 is that there is a specific download "store" for each region, ie., UK, US, Japan etc....

So all you gotto do is register an account in that territory,i.e, select the country... andcreate the account to download their content...

Catch is if u registering a japanese account, u'll need to know japanese..lol
but there are many guides online telling you how to do so...
so you're safe

Got european demos and US demos installedon my ps3....

Its a poweful feature of PS3 yet to be tapped into....

Damn I think I am getting me a ps3, the fact that you can install linux without any drama and run ur own software = ultimate htpc yes

I always assumed that linux was another homebrew project like it is on all other consoles. How is linux performance anyway? does it work as a decent media player for things like xvid etc?

The Cell Processor truly shines in its running...

The main limitation though is the RAM... (as u know ram in consoles is significantly lower than in pc's)

But yea i suppose u cud play all those vids...

it is an OS... and the cool thing i read is that when u turn it on u can choose which OS to boot...

motor storm is over rated its fun to play but the single player mode really isnt fun they made the interface too arcade style rather than console.

wait till september which is a month away heavenly sword is releasing as well as juiced 2, Juiced 1 wasnt all that great but it was based on online play as is part 2 abd judging from the screens and addition of drift it looks rather interesting.

L2get widescreen. Its designed for online, not offline.

you may want to hold on though man, there's alot of rumors that MGS4 will have a port for the 360. If they do i'll be real mad since the ps3 was the original reason why i bought the expensive ass system.

im tired of everyone saying that it was made pretty clear that it wasnt being ported and people still having doubts just sounds pretty stupid to me at this point. if Hideo Kojima stating on more than one occasion wasnt enough then sony producing movie and game having six-axis controls should be enough and everyone knows sony wont wanna lose this one so if it comes down to it they would have no problem making deals.
