As for the firmware update...
Came out 11:30pm Trini time November 7th...

Got it around 12:30am nov 8th...

Its awesome man... The theme chaning is great...you can change the system font...change all the icons on the ps3...FOR FREE.......you can also CREATE your own themes, using special software sony wll soon release (just like for the psp) (Official themese will come out via the Playstation Network)
any updates concerning the playstation world...like a new game out, reviews,  new ps3 sku etc..etc.. will pop up in a "information bar" at the top right hand corner...

Friends now on its own dedicated vertical menu...

Support for Dualshock 3 controllers..

New flash player built in to the web browser...

Further remote play support, that is, if you have a psp, you can turn on your ps3 (from any wifi hotspot in the world) that is, once the ps3 is  connected to the internet...
Access all files on the ps3, music, photos, videos, even start up the ps3 web browser and go on sites like youtube... access the playstation store, queue up downloads of demos, wallpapers, themese etc... EVEN play ps3 games....like LAIR etc....

Playlists have been added for photos and videos...Pretty straight-forward.
Lets just say the GUI for adding photos and music to their playlists is amazing....


Other than that...minor tweaks have been made to the ps3 on the whole make this one AMAZING Update...

Good to read, since I plan on getting a PS3 for my Birthday next month, things are looking up finally...

whoa, PS3 is getting better by the er...updates(time period), i think i might get one...in the next 2-3 years... Right now, most i'll do is spend a week or two by a relative who has one    sadly, i have none of those falling under that catagory

went online and found this is a regular problem. How the PS3 does get "cornfuse" when it connecting through a router. I followed mr man instructions here....i not doing that router thing...that is headache i eh want.
Im using a Lynksis router and the wireless is switched off on the PS3. any help? i could do with it.

what kinda of w/router do you have, you could try upgrading its firmware or trying an alternative firmware if your model is supported.

Did you try the dns method?

I did some further research. Someone mentioned it takes a while for the PS3 to "sort itself out" when it goes online. I usually get booted on the first auto log in....then the second time it stays on....so no worries.

downloaded the demo....wow it take a while to download

anyway I like the game. It feels like Tomb Raider but the controls are nicer LOL.

Graphics - Nice graphics for in game. Cut scenes could use some work though, but whatever.

Gameplay - Nice controls. Responsive and so forth. I like the duck and cover feature where you can use places to do a Rainbow Six Vegas thing.

Rest of the game. Some nice little icing here and there. He feels like the Han Solo esq. kinda guy. "howd i get myself into this" kinda fella who mumbles to himself.

There is a small puzzle feature in the game. The environment is so well done that sometimes you need to take a sec to realize what is pre rendered and what is not. Simple platform jumping to get around obstacles or move to another area.

However im not liking the "okay were in a zone, clear everyting and move on" kinda scenario, but if the story for this game is REALLY good Drakes Fortune is a must buy. I think the story will be the selling point for this game.

But the graphics are truly incredible...While playing it, i was like "this is next-gen"

@ the sign-in problem, many people had the problem from wednesday night onwards, i.e. when update 2.00 came out + the uncharted demo...
I couldn't get on at all....I attempted to sign in at least 10 times..and nothing worked..

A couple hours later though...like 9pm Thursday night..i got in... started the demo download...

on LIVE you can text and voice chat in game. its the bomb. Even in a online deathmatch.

anyway i pickup Oblivion GOTY for PS3 today.....along with a bottle of champagne...i think that is why i buy it...i was high on the first bottle when ibuy it. LOL i was playing it for quite some time.....i thinki ts my first offline WoW to keep me busy.

COD4 real nice for the ps2, Honestly I was expecting the Graphics to take a hit like with most multi platform games but man not once did the frame rate drop and the graphics are f'ing photo realistic in some cases.  Online addictive too, the "create a class" feature jsut makes you want to keep on palying to unlock more perks .

I was palying uncharted last night and it feeling good so far. has a cover like Rainbow six, not as great but still good enough.  I wasn't looking forward for the game before but now I am.

Well I don't have my psp now...but I have tried remote play over the internet while the PS3 was on...and it worked perfectly....A little PS3 in the palm of my hand...

yeah i don't have a ps3 but would it be possible form me to use the remote play feature on someone else ps3, like if some one did the remote play setup on the ps3 would i beable to connect and use it.
