A friend of mine just got hit with it and sent it to JK. I wonder how reliable their fixes are on the PS3? Haven't heard many good things about RROD fixes on the 360.

YLOD has finally hit me 2 and a half year old 60gb ps3 .

well this guy was completely right on a number of recent announcements (not partly right, 100% right)
which included firmware update features, slim etc
so yuh hadda wonder wat IF EA really is d reason?

Correction, Agokillya did some voodoo and Both Jarrox and Foz4ric are back on Live, since their apparent RROD went away overnight...LOL so only 1 Xbox 360 fell victim vs. 3 PS3's

well map packs u buy from wa region u bought the game from aka the US unless u importing games from other regions. but that would make gettin dlc harder since gettin an EU PSN card is therapy

DLC is only region locked to the region the game came from i.e. DLC for a US game will only work on the US version.

PS3 does not have region locking on games, it is up to the developers to put in region locking if they want and last I checked very few PS3 games have region checking. This means with a US PS3 you can import and play most EU and Japan games. However you will have to buy the appropriate DLC and thats where it will be hard to find a EU or JP PSN card.

PS3 has no ip address region blocking for DLC. If you have a US game on your US PS3 and a US account with funds you can download DLC from Trinidad.

This was the biggest issue with the 360 where I had a US 360, a US account (with a US address), US Gears of WAR but could not download maps because my ip address was detected as not in the US. Had to use a VPN to download.


PS3 video store and vidzone is region blocked by ip address.

Located under the PlayStation Network icon, “What’s New” displays the latest and greatest game, video, PlayStation Network and PlayStation news and releases, as well as your recently played games, in a sleek, new animated format.

Status Indicator – In the top right corner we’ve added an indicator bar, which displays your user icon, friend icon, the number of friends you have online and a small message icon to let you know if you have any new messages. The indicator also includes a scrolling ticker that features the latest news from PlayStation Network. Friends List – Now your PlayStation Network friends will appear in a slightly redesigned format on your

Personalization – Personalize your PS3 with new dynamic custom themes and avatars. Dynamic themes as well as free and premium avatars will be available through PlayStation Store. A dynamic theme takes your screen to a whole new level as it incorporates animated objects into the background.

Trophies – Showcasing your hard earned trophies just got better. Update 3.00 gives game developers the ability to modify how they display trophies for add-on content. Base and add-on game trophies will continue to be combined into a single list so you can see where you stand in a game as a whole. Within that list, trophies will be broken out into subcategories—base trophies and add-on trophies—that way, you can easily view the percentage of your base game trophy collection, and separately track your trophy progress in add-on packs. Look for this enhancement to be included in upcoming games.
