Chow Lin On in shootout with banditsBy Akile SimonChow Lin On in shootout with bandits | Trinidad Express Newspaper | NewsStory Created: Dec 9, 2010 at 11:57 PM ECTStory Updated: Dec 9, 2010 at 11:57 PM ECTBusinessman Anthony Chow Lin On (Chinese Laundry), engaged in a shoot-out with two bandits early yesterday, leaving one injured.The bandits escaped in a waiting car which was later spotted by police on the Eastern Main Road, Tunapuna.Police engaged in a shoot-out with the occupants and pursued the Nissan Tida to Chase Village flyover where it crashed.Three occupants ran out of the crashed car but were pursued by police into nearby bushes. One man was found unconscious bleeding from gunshot injuries.The 19-year-old man from Enterprise Village, in Chaguanas, remained warded in critical condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.The car was identified as being involved in the earlier shooting incident at Tragarete Road and an all-points-bulletin.According to police reports, around 12.30 a.m. two men approached Chow Lin On while he was walking towards his business place, the Trinidad and Tobago Radio Network (TTRN), the parent company of 96.1 We FM and two other radio stations.Police said one of men asked Chow Lin On if the nearby food outlet, Mr Chow's, was open, and Chin Lin On responded no. The suspect, police said, then whipped out a gun, and Chow Lin On drew his licenced pistol and a shootout ensued.Another man also began shooting at Chow Lin On, forcing him to take cover behind a nearby car. One of the men was believed to have been shot in the incident.Officers believe the bandit who would have been shot by Chow Lin On may have been dropped off by his accomplices before the shootout with Northern Division police.
