I'm sure MJ moonwalked on stage for more than 7 seconds, maybe not in 1 move though (at the pace he used to do it, he would have fallen off the stage). However as much as 7 seconds is better than none, I don't think it's enough to give her the praises OR for that matter JW and Blaze the praises. IF she does it for another 7 seconds in ANOTHER PERFORMANCE then fine. But that was just to woo the trini crowd. If it's is REALLY a forward to our music and culture HOPEFULLY we'll see some integration of the influence of our culture in her future music. Otherwise it's tantamount to Jay-Z throwing US DOLLAR (note singular) bills into the crowd to make us jump and make HIS video look better.

I disagree, W1n. That was in NO WAY worth $1,600 or even a push for the culture but I look at it like this: I was backin Palance long time. I real happy for JW and Blaze. Having Beyonce actually do it (and get it right... Her wine was an EPIC failure but she palanced most properly) was icing on a BESS cake for two radio DJs who jus on wildness. In no way would I class it as a redeeming factor for that fiasco... It was just a nice touch.

I didn't say we were prominent, Arc but the world DOES know about Calypso and Soca in some form or the other. That's why I made it a point to mention the THEFT of our artform (and in some cases, BLATANT sale e.g. Baha Men). Shadow had a tune on the Sister Act II soundtrack. Harry Belafonte was BIG with Calypso internationally, also with a soundtrack on a major movie i.e. Beetlejuice and he's not even Trini (I think). Baha Men and their watered down version of Anslem Douglas' hit... The list goes on, hoss.

We don't need foreign help. Local artistes just need to get their shit together.

Nothing out of it so far. I kinda suspected before that they jump the fence in the night time for whatever reason.  Hopefully one night he tries to jump over, fails, breaks his old ass and i wake up and find him in my yard.
