- My car getting hit by a driver who did no gauge distance properly and swerved into my car trying to change from right to center lane. I was headed east just after Aranguez lights at 4pm today. He claimed I was in his blind spot. Only my front right fender and bumper (and rim) dent sightly..

- the offending driver offering to have me go by his straightener to fix.

- Taking a closer look at the photo I took of the driver's permit about half hour after the accident and seeing BEETHAM GARDENS as the address. Straightener is in Laventille opp. NP gas station, by Nagib Elias.

Tread lightly there Sax, been getting alot of reports from friends and family this year with the crap goin on our roads. A guy was telling me the other day that some youths hit him from behind, they had no license/no insurance when it was reported to the police they basically said "they have no license, no insurance so you have nothing to get. They are from Laventille, what you want us to do?" as in go fix your car yourself there is nothing we can do, steups.

At least the other guy admitted he wrong, many times them fellas claim it is your fault! when it clearly is not. Ah well.

Woodyear: Police didn't want to do his job there. No insurance, no permit and operating a vehicle while having netiher supposed to mean lockup, especially as is "Laventille Youths"... Even if they can't or won't pay, I woulda press for them to see jail, yes.

Nephilim: Thanks, I had no choice, I was on my way to fete match football (team lost 5-4). Granted the offender is 60 years old, I make the report cause the name he tell me is not the name on his permit. He was talking about going by his straightener, but having the location described to me, I not trusting no one with my car in that area. I will find mine and send him the bill.

Funny thing is, after the guy hit me, he still managed to reach the left shoulder from the right lane and park up wel before i did

Yeah you did the right thing.

As for no license etc. you are correct, however when you think about pressing charges and all the hassle that would come out of that you really wonder if it worth it. I had a neighbour go through a similar incident, except this time he wanted to press charges. The police told him that those are some real bad boys from morvant and strongly advise "fix the car yuhself." You know what happen? Dem fellas had his number and constant death threats. Meh boy was so scared after a week he not only fixed his car but gave in to their demands and fixed theirs too! A real wtmc..

I believe in assessing the situation and making a decision then, because some people yuh really doh wanna have to deal with nah.
