yeah just tried it

works like a charm

when you press F yu speed up significantly

when you press F again yu go back to normal speed
if yu didnt go far enough away from the monter/monsters (because yu can attract more than one) then they catch right back up to you.

So you can press F ski diagonally for a good while and loose them and then continue skiing in turbo mode or in regular mode until you attract more monsters.
