- Driving along Ariapita Avenue around 9pm last night and seeing police stripping tint and WRECKING cars along avenue. For the first time EVER I see a car worth more than TT$200,000 get towed: a BMW 5 Series for parking too close to the corner.

- Passing thru St. James 3 hours later, same thing, yes!!

I know is a recession, but wrecking cars at MIDNIGHT?!?!?

hmm that may not be legal for anything other than obstructing drive ways or parking to close to corner.
Not like wrecking man for parking on wrong side of road..

but wow @ night time tint strippage. awesome.

I was informed that the real reason for the tint operations is to root out the law breakers.
Cause criminals are criminals in total, they dont have insurance, dont wear seat belt, may not have licence,speed, use the shoulder,illegal aftermarket parts and so forth.

They need to see clearly into cars for security?

Anyway why I said that was due to the sudden boost in security and services locally to synch with the summit. It's a good thing!

doh worry, as soon as the summit done, vagrants will be back on the streets, crime will pick up again and the police will go back to normal letting crime continue...to imagine, it takes a summit in Trinidad for something positive to happen...the rest of the year, things will be back to its normal crime ridden state...

Trinidad going to be on the world stage.
I don't think there has been a bigger event in this country.
So yea, false images of this nation.
I hope BBC and them do a documentary as they do when they visiting most 3rd world countries... "The Real Trinidad and Tobago".

Men doh realize that whilst we KNOW it's bad, that's NOT the picture you want to paint of the country on the world stage. foreign investment drives our economy and if they are too afraid to invest in T&T we'll be stuck anyways. So whilst I think we shouldn't paint it all rosey with bunny rabbits, we definitely can't paint it as a war torn middle east country either.
