.....so I'll be buying this, and Far Cry 2, so the copy protection wont worry me,
unless it reaches levels like that Bioshock (and Mass Effect) fiasco.

Interesting indeed...graphics does look more realistic. But am I seeing right? With the tool installed and NO mod applied, fps are practically doubled???

Just goes to show that this thing was heavily unoptimized...on purpose.

Well BOY...all I can say is OMGWTFBBQCHICKENWITHCHEESECAKEANDSYRUP!!!!!

The effect of theis mod has to be seen to be believed.
The first thing my brother asked me when the game loaded was 'did you get a new video-card?'
Consider the fact that he does not play PC games at all, and only knows about Crysis because I've played it.
If he could have noticed the graphical difference off the bat like that, then this mod will simply ASTOUND YO MONKEY-AZZ!!!

Light and dark contrast, and shadows look oh-so-realistic now.  All the fancy 'Very-High' effects reserved for DX10 are
now available for all settings.

I would put up some screenies, but the mod isnt playing nice with my screen-capture program, but as soon as I fix that, is
screens iymc.

Lawd Arcman, I still dunno what to do about this one, It looking real good but all this damn DRM annoys me, lol check out the reviews on Amazon for both Crysis Warhead and Spore, plenty people pissed lol.

Steuuppsssss.  This game will be pirated even worse than the original Crysis because of this.
Officially, you can install and activate the game on 5 PCs as many times as you want.
Once there is a 'significant hardware change', and you've used up all 5 activations, then you
must contact EA to obtain further licenses.

In other words, if I install it on one PC, and I upgrade it 5 times, then for the sixth PC upgrade,
I will then have to contact EA.  I wonder just what is meant by 'significant hardware change'.
Next thing you know, everytime I OC my bloody PC I have to reactivate the game again!!?

Utter ballzness.  Not to mention, the game installs some rootkit-like software on your PC as well.
I may have seriously reconsidered buying it if I had known of all this beforehand.

I'm not too worried though, as there's already a crack that defeats the online acivation, but why
should I have to crack a game that I have legitimately bought?

While I applaud Crytek's efforts to keep the pirates at bay, this time I think they went a little too
far with it.  Is now self people wont buy the game, and with the advent of the crack, its open season
on Crysis Warhead.

I love everything Crysis, but I too must draw the line somewhere.

good thing i didn't bother buyin this game. i have the 'aquired' version and played it through about half way without any problems. as far as the 'improved performance' the new game boast? well to be honest, i haven't seen an improvement so far. i actually find that the game runs worst than it did in the first one. might be a driver thing though, so i'll hold off judgement for the hour.
