Crysis look like a wallet hole for me...

If i want to play this game...I want to get the best experience, i.e. best graphics...

And if a system like the test machine at tomshardware  can't push it too around 60..then...

Crysis hull ya tail!

You far ahead of your time....

I running 7900GS in SLI and barely pushing 40fps with the resolution at 1024x 768 with detail settings auto-detect set to 'medium'!!!

At least it was playable...

You dont need an uper CPU to max out Crysis, you need uber video. As a matter of fact, no one can max it out because no gpu exists that can do it.

Well, the idea was to 'future scale' the game, so that when the GPU to max it out at 60 fps DOES exist,
Crytek will continue to make money off this game 2 years down the line.  Not to mention, this game is
now THE app of choice for hardware benchmarking.

About the CPU thing.  An uber (watch that spelling ) CPU aint necessary...but it helps. :happy0203:

they weren't joking when they say it was scalable
my partner running it at playable frame rates on a rig with a  256 6200, 2gb ddr400 and a 1.7ghz processor.

I am thinking a Phenom or Penryn Quad + 8800GT SLI would do the trick... unfortunately you add Vista to that mix (preferrably 64-bit for +4GB proper memory addressing) and well... maybe Crossfire X or Tri-SLI will give the game its just dessert? so I would have to say no RIG in production can do it, but I am sure there is one in a lab somewhere waiting to BRING THE PAIN!!!

Well its official, this game is 5 stars. My PC managed medium everything on 1024x768 with MOSTLY >30FPS. I have to say 30 and not 60 as there was the occasional stutter, notably when looking at water or large expansive scenes like the mountain when you first see it. That aside, it does offer some interesting gameplay and I already see the need for DX10 cause whilst the physics were noticeable, from the demo videos we've seen, DX10 gives more interaction with the surroundings and that's what will differentiate this game from the others. It honestly does look and play alot like Farcry imho which is a bit disappointing but then Farcry imho is still better than the other titles of its time (notably HL2 and Doom3). I will NEED to up my rigs specs to play this to get the complete WOW factor.

I did try one thing which I quickly regretted.. I pumped it up to 1280x1024 HIGH settings with 6xAA... slideshow was an UNDERSTATEMENT... I couldn't even access the MENU :p so I may just wait to see what specs are required for the best gaming experience b4 I get this game... cause to play it on anything short of 1280x1024 with HIGH-VERY HIGH settings and at least 4xAA would betray the whole experience... imho anys
