Well who deserve to be in the finals then?.....Portugal?...Germany?...Brasil?...if they deserve to be there then they would have score de goals dem been there, thats that bottom line...they had no excuse and they had their chance....I agree with you that they were better skilled teams but they like they didnt want to win....

I was backin France and i didnt mind if they did lose but Zidane really had no excuse for wat he did ,that really hott meh...stupes...he really lose points in my book but he still is a skilled player and will always be....we have to take de bad with the good...

From what i read on a friend's journal and they say that the press interviewed a student who understands Italian and reads lips.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED :

Through out the entire game, Marco Materazzi, who was given the assignement of guarding Zidane when he got close to the goals, had apparently been cursing and saying nasty unpleasant things to the French Captain all through out the game, remarks that were neglected and ignored by Zinedine Zidane.

Never the less, after a Materazzi pulled once again on Zidane's Jersey and put his arms around him to limit his movement, Zidane said to Materazzi, as Zidane was pointing at his sleeve:

- "Ordinanza de tirare il costume!!" ( Stop pulling on my jersey !! )

To which Materazzi responded:

- "Taciti, enculo, hai solamente cio che merite..." (Shut up you asshole, you are only getting what you deserve ...)

- "si e cio..." ( yeah ... it's like that ... )

At this moment, Zidane started walking away from the Italian defender, who kept going, saying to Zidane's turned back:

- "meritate tutti ciò, voi gli enculato di musulmani, sporchi terroristici" ( You deserve all that and more, all you motherfucking muslims do, you fucking terrorists )

This is when Zidane, feeling tired and abused, stops dead in his tracks, turns around and rams Materazzi in the chest with his head !

as per the eto'o incident, and various others ( dwight yorke, john barnes and almost every black player) show, racism is alive and kickin in football, be it with the fans, the coaches or the players themselves..

but that wasn't the forum , or the manner in which to deal with it..
had he made a press statement about it afterwards, or lend his celebrity  to a anti-racism program, or one to enhance the world view of muslims, that would have had a far greater positive impact. he could have done like eto'o and refuse to continue playing, thereby drawing immediate attention to it

true, those were ugly words that NO ONE should have to put up with it, but that wasnt the response he should have given ..

you're the captain, and captain means you above all have to set an example. you represent your country, and your teamates...  granted he human, an entitled to snap just like everyone else
BUT
you're a senior player at the world cup finals, and a role model to millions

Materazzi denied reports he called Zidane a "terrorist" or used insulting language towards Zidane's mother.

"It was the kind of insult you will hear dozens of times and just slips out of the ground," Materazzi is quoted in Italian paper La Gazetta dello Sport.

"I didn't call Zidane a terrorist and certainly didn't mention his mother.

BBC Radio Five Live asked for help from a deaf lip reader, Jessica Rees, who read the words phonetically to an Italian translator.

She deciphered the insult as being "you're the son of a terrorist whore" - a translation also carried by many national newspapers in Britain on Tuesday.

The BBC's Ten O'Clock News also called in experts to study the television footage of the incident and determined the following:

Materazzi's first word to Zidane was "no" before he then told him to "calm down".

He then accused him of being a "liar" and wished "an ugly death to you and your family" on the day the Frenchman's mother had been taken to hospital ill. This was followed by "Go f*** yourself".

Zidane's agent, Alain Migliaccio, has hinted that Zidane will soon reveal exactly what was said by Materazzi. "

Berlin's top World Cup official shot himself in the head just hours after the tournament ended and is now fighting for his life, police say.

Juergen Kiessling, 65, was rushed to hospital from his house in Reinickendorf, a suburb of Berlin, after a neighbour heard the shot.

The motive for the apparent suicide attempt is not yet clear.

German media report that he left two suicide notes - one for his daughter and one for his family.

Berlin hosted the World Cup final on Sunday, when fans watched Italy beat France on penalties.

When Zidane reveals what happened that day, maybe we'll find out what's what.
Until then, I call b******t on EVERYTHING (concerning the headbutt, that is). Far be it from me to believe everything and anything I'm told, anyway.

As for the official that shot himself....I wish him a speedy recovery, my prayers, and, if I ever do see him...a swift kick to his gonads. I'm a firm believer that people who commit suicide (unless it's something drastic like saving the life of somebody else in the process) are weak-minded people who aren't man enough to face the problems that many of us face. And a daughter, too? Double shots to the groin for that. She doesn't deserve to go through that. Nobody does.
