The next step in cyber warfare
« on: May 31, 2006, 11:36:28 AM »
Now I have known for some time that the US suspected China of strategic, well structured, definitely NOT run of the mill hacker attacks originating from behind the red walls in the far east... but this is something I didn't expect. Basically the following article is the clear and loud msg to all of what they're doing... I don't think speculation is necessary anymore when you annouce you have a branch of the military dedicated to hacking your adversary. Have a read:

Hacking in the army now

By Nick Farrell: Wednesday 31 May 2006, 14:22

THE CHINESE People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has formalised its hacker arm and developed information warfare reserve and militia units.
According to the US Defense Department, the units are getting broader exercises and training alongside regular PLA units.

The Department's "Annual Report to Congress: Military Power of the People’s Republic of China 2006" said that China wants to launch pre-emptive attacks against enemy computer networks in a crisis. During a war information warfare units could support active PLA forces by conducting ‘hacker attacks’ and network intrusions, or other forms of cyber warfare.

Targets would include an adversary’s military and commercial computer systems. They would also helping to defend Chinese networks from enemy forces who might have the same idea. Units would be made up of recruits from academies, institutes and IT companies.

Apparently in 2005, the PLA began to incorporate offensive computer network operations into military exercises.

The battle plan is to make physical strikes against C4 nodes, and virus attacks on enemy systems.

US building a laser in space *cough particle cannon.. *cough...

  China already has nukes.....

Just need for bin laden to fill some scud launchers with toxins.....

Of course China > USA .. just let lotus sell all he power and no cannon or planes ... then nuke he mc
GLA > China , all your troops and tanks getting poisoned and suicide attacked...
USA> GLA  as proven in iraq and Afghanistan , don't expose your troops if you have to.. use canadians and germans if available...  or just carpet bomb they mc .
