« on: May 16, 2006, 01:40:11 PM »
Ok , so i think im gonna get a DS lite soon , so...you guys out there in trinidad who have a ds , can you tell me how to go online? do i have to go to like movietown? or can i stay home and go online somehow? Ill be getting metriod prime hunters and mario kart so online play would be a huge bonus.

Would be really thankful for any kind of help/advice :)

you need 1 of 2 things

1. A wifi access point.....if you have wireless router you good. Nintendo has a list of supported routers

2. Or the WiFi adaptor. You plug it into the USB port on your PC and you install the software and good to go.

You need DSL. I dont know if it works with Dial up, but using it would be wasting your time.

Well I go online all the time with my ds using the WiFi adapter. I got it imported but I can tell you that even with dial-up the online gameplay is smooth, not a single complaint. It's really easy to set up. The only drawback is that you have to use the ds in the same room as the computer with the WiFi (range kinda limited). Metroid online is a must try!!!

Believe it. You wouldn't believe how much he ANNOYS the freaking tar out of me with that fancy-shmancy DS and his precious Wi-Fi, and how smooth multiplayer runs on it. FAH.

You don't need a wireless router only the WiFi USB adapter a 56k connection and a good working pc. Ryan seen it if you don't believe me, the DS does a test and all before you can play to ensure a good connection. But like i said before you have to be in the same room and only a little distance from the pc is granted or the bars will go done.

Err....that problem has since been fixed. Since the PSP was shipped to the US. Like MONTHS ago. Were you living under a rock or something?

I mean, I've had my PSP for quite some time now, and Square's working just fine.
(And since I have only Mega Man titles, that should be MORE than enough stress testing on that button.)

On topic now. Spelling errors aside, what The_Falener says is correct.
You'd be dumbstruck at how smooth Metroid: Prime Hunters multiplayer plays on his DS. The connection takes a divebomb whenever he moves away from his PC, though, but overall, I was pretty taken aback by how well it played, even on a less than 56K dial-up connection.

Dude what the hell you talking about, they fixed all the PSP problems already (minus the short battery life). Hey I love my Nintendo DS especially since it can go online with such ease but the PSP is a dread system! It can also go online but damn is it a harder process. The PSP, you need a broadband connection so that kinda sucks!

i have not seen one game on the PSP to warrant me buying that system as yet. Not a single one. That system is for people who dont have time to play PS2 and always traveling.

Sony please..

when that PSP puts out a really good game , i might give it a nod ,but untill then it can keep its untold legends and its card battling metal gears and stick em up its disc reader.

Loko roko is the only thing that make meh look in the psp direction...

I got the usb wifi thing from nintendo today , ill try installing and running it then if it works ill probly get hunters.

Right now I beat all my DS games (New super mario brothers was way too short). The only games I play now is wario ware touched, yu-gi-oh nightmare troubadour together with mario kart DS and metroid (online gaming). I want to give guilty gear dust strikers a try, has anyone played this before? It's got online play but the thing that is keeping me back is that it's not the traditional guilty gear where you ring for moves. Now it's like a one button melee thing which is kinda turning me off. Any ideas about this game or should I just get guilty gear judgement day and done for the psp since its the original style of play, but no online play :(
