I guess they figured a female lead character would make it more scary than a male.

Okay in one sentence. Fans of Silent Hill who played the game gonna think this movie is the bomb.......people who didnt know...i eh kno wwhat to say.
People who played this game know it has a very deep storyline, so you would understand the plot twists. Ended great....loved it. Go see it.

I started watching it but I'm not done yet. From what i have seen though, they took the storyline of Silent Hill 1 and changed the character to a female. Don't ask me why.
Anyway, everything from the driving scene to when the woman wakes up in the bowl-o-rama is from the starting of Silent Hill 1. It was kinda creepy cause I could say EXACTLY what was going to happen before it happened. I will reserve my judgement until I watch the whole movie though.

Well the bootleg here long time (not that i condone piracy but i'm just saying...).
Anyway, in the mean time you might want to check out "Stay Alive". It's a pretty good movie. It's one of the best attempts by Hollywood to accurately depict gamers/technophiles in film. There is even a big poster for steamboy(anime) in the background of one of the scenes.

I saw this in movietown last weekend. I've been waiting for the LONGEST while for this movie since I am a fan of the game. I thought it was quite true to the original game and it did have that uncomfortable feeling the game gives one. It's not the best movie, however I think ALL fans of the game will like it. As far as horror's go, well.... i've not seen a horror since IT when I was 8 yrs old and thus it was terrifying then... now as I older... horrors just don't well... horrify me... I waiting for THAT TRULY shit yuh pants horror to come out... I had hoped Silent Hil would be it... but I guess the story line is too far out there to be really believeable. It's the things that COULD be true that would make for the best horror.

You'll only need to play over 1 & 3 not 1-3... maybe even 4 since those are the ones most closely related to the story.
