After two X-Men Legends games focusing on just the mutant superteam's exploits, Activision and Raven Software are expanding their focus. For their next title, due out this fall on multiple platforms, the dynamic publisher-developer duo is tackling the entire Marvel universe. Marvel: Ultimate Alliance will feature more than 20 playable characters, including Wolverine, Spider-Man, Captain America, Blade, and The Thing. Activision is promising that when the game is finished, more than 140 Marvel characters will appear in some form. Customizability appears to be a theme for the game, as players will be able to create their own team name and vehicle, level up characters individually or as a group, and go into a fight bare-fisted or wielding improvised weapons plucked from the environment. On top of that, Activision is promising player interaction in the story, where each gamer's team has its own reputation, and the missions accepted, the objectives completed, and the player's interactions with characters all have a hand in the story's path and outcome. Ultimate Alliance will feature online and offline multiplayer cooperative modes, as well as a competitive mode that tracks each player's statistics and distributes experience and equipment points based on those numbers. And much like Activision enlisted Uncanny X-Men scribe Chris Claremont to help write its upcoming X-Men: The Official Game along with Zak Penn, screenwriter for X2 and this summer's X-Men: The Last Stand, the publisher is again turning to talent from the source material for help. For Ultimate Alliance, Marvel Mangaverse writer C.B. Cebulski will lend his expertise to developer Raven Software. Activision has announced Ultimate Alliance for the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox, PlayStation 2, PSP, Game Boy Advance, and PC. The game is set for a fall release.
the real question is which are the 20 playable characters in the game.this what i would like to see and why:1)Captain America- he is marvel's biggest legend, can't have a title liek this and leave him out2)Spiderman- he is the personality of marvel, can't do this without him3)Wolverine- is logan, you try leaving him out and see what will happen4)Storm- she is the most outstanding woman in marvel comics history, a must have5)Ironman- another milestone in marvel history, plus he has a special relationship with characters Captain america and spiderman6)The Thing- i prefer the Hulk, but Ben is alot better in team based scanarios7)Scarlet Witch- i always wanted to see how her powers would be used in a video game8)Punisher- no guns, no glory9)Daredevil- with the kinda collateral damage that gonna takep lace in this game, a lawyer would be an ice thing to have around.10She Hulk- okay maybe 2 lawyers11)Black Panther- he gettign married to Storm this year, hadda be a mad man to let a woman so fine be away from him for too long.12)Ghost Rider- he rides a motorcycle with flames for wheels. I mean come on!13)Dr Strange- I just wanna see him use his powers14)Namor- …. He could swim… and breathe underwater and talk to fish and stuff…15)Thor- no explanation necessary, he’s a god16)Magneto- okay so what if he is a villain, he is a favourite amongst the comic community17)Cable/Bishop- time travel always makes things interesting18)Black Widow- sexy Russian assassin with talent in martial arts and weapon use, why not right?19)Nova- he was always one of my favourite heroes, and he is being relaunched with a mini seris this year20)Howard the Duck- hey if it wasn’t a problem to have a duck sidekick in kingdom hearts it should not be a problem here.that's my line up of choice, what's yours?i hope i get soem chakuro for this one yes, i salting lately.
