Transfer DVDs to iPods and PSPsCloneDVD Mobile does the trickBy Charlie Demerjian: Friday 03 February 2006, 08:27BEWARE VILE PEDDLERS of DRM infections, SlySoft is at it again, this time tackling portable devices. Sick of having to rebuy movies that you already bought? Sick of hardware and software saying no to you? Well, you need the latest and greatest from the boys in Antigua, CloneDVD Mobile.Let's start out by saying that I have not tried this software, but I still heartily recommend it. Why? Everything it has done to date has worked flawlessly, and it has a track record of keeping the products updated and working well. CloneDVD is a good example.Hardly a week goes by without an email update touting the latest fixes and enhancements in that product, more than two years after I wrote it up. It still works like a charm. The same holds true for AnyDVD, one of the few things out there that will blow through most DVD based DRM infections with nary a mouse-click. If you don't have this one, your computer is crippled. So, with that in mind, not so much as having downloaded the 21-day eval, all I can say is try it. It takes a DVD and transfers it to a portable device. It works with PSPs, iPods, iAudioX5 and Creative Xen among others, presumably with more coming soon. It lets you pick the target size so you can tailor it to the medium, crop, edit and preview. If it is anything like CloneDVD, an average monkey can figure it out in half an hour without much prodding. If you are sick of paying $30 for a UMD of a movie you just bought for $15, get CloneDVD Mobile. If you want to legally transfer your product to your portable, you will also need AnyDVD to blow through the DRM infection.
