Cool article especially for them physics phreaks and people into Lasers so then again if i say lasers i could mean chem freaks if it is a chemical based laser.. but anways its not really black than black its a better quality black based owing to the fact that the creation process has less flaws in the surface creating higher absorbing power

thanks guys for giving me reading material for my science, med and tech class lol
as arch said the absorbtion is higher and they use the electroless nickel process, including unique adhesion layer zincating steps

Yes flippant it will be very good for telescopes if they some how make the process cheaper low cost telescopes would not only have a greater resolution but also be more powerful for less
