Inspite of massive hype and tens of millions in marketing king kong opened to LESS than 10 million on wednesday. Let put this into perspective. Catch me if you can with hanks and di caprio opened on a wednesday also with more than that. The only hope now is that fantastic word of mouth will cause it to do a Shrek 2 and shake off the unspectacular opening day and still break records come the weekend. Still all those who were predicting that Narnia would be history once the great ape rolled out must be slipping on figskins now.

Say wha? Never crossed my mind that King Kong had a chance against Narnia. Narnia = pure awesomeness. King Kong is just hype. I predict that Narnia's just going to keep owning Kong, because there's nothing drawing me to that ape. I'm sorry.

Kong scraped past 50 mil for the weekend some 15 million lower than narnia made last week but it seems the critics love it anyone seen both narnia and kong? can some one give an opinion as to which is the better movie?

Just because one has a phenominal book does not mean jack sh!t when it comes to movies. Narnia came and went like a breeze across the US. You shoulda see the line for Kong, i had to go twice to get in, first time all shows were sold out.

yeah i saw both narnia gets the edge. They were both good kong was a little bit too long 3+ hrs , good story the end was a bit drab though. Narnia on the other hand was concise and nicely put together but more for the younger ones although when i went had a whole lot of oldies

Well I saw both, and I agree with giving Narnia the edge. With that said though, Kong was not badly done all in all, it just had been dragged out a little too long, and it's a movie that has scenes that has been all done before. That's what happens when you try to remake a film that's been such an inspiration to so many movies after it.
