nah man!

bring it come. Let us know what we have to aspire too!

might be responsible for some mass migration if the figures sweet enough.
So be it... :D

Not my maxed out speeds, but close enough...

And just for clarification, I'm in Canada, not the US...the fine city of Calgary to be exact.

Not quite in the 800-1000KB/s bracket Neo...but for $10 Canadian more, I could be ;) I'm on the "regular" package with my DSL provider...which is a 5mbit down, 512kbit up...and like I said, for $10 more, I could get a 7mbit down...but I nah greedy like dat, 5mbit keeps me happy for now :)

I've often seen close to the theoretical max of 640KB/s, makes for good times when downloading stuff you want NOW :D

Just spoke to my cousin, who's employed with TSTT and works at the Nelson Exchange in POS.  She said that an 'upgrade' was done to the ADSL framework last night.  Apparently it was supoosed to have an effect on upload/download speeds.
Unfortunately, it was done only at Nelson Exchange.  If any of you have DSL and know for a fact that your phone line comes directly off Nelson, please do some bandwidth tests and confirm this.

She also said that the engineers there are still testing, so this 'upgrade' has not been made public as yet, and no, she could not tell me what speeds.

Apparently, from what she said, the impending release of FLOW has TSTT higher-ups VERY concerned, and they actually predict a significant exodus of high-speed customers if the FLOW service is proven to offer higher speeds at similar prices.

I think this is the day we ADSL users have been praying, exalting, worshipping, committing blood sacrifices for.

There are also plans to market CDMA cards for a very small niche market, catering to handheld users, so they too can access the EV-DO service.

As they say on the street: 'BIG TINGS A GWAN!!!'

Nelson exchange is down by Sackville & Edward streets...in POS.

sounds great.... likely  an upgrade to at least 512k , but anywhere up to 1mbit is possible , FLow in jamiaca is offerin starting speeds of 1mbit going up to 5mbits... Trinidad is a potentially more lucrative market for the size          (  higher rich people to poor people ratio) and we should get at least what the jamaicans get...
Question : is do they have enough bandwidth to give us 1mbit + speeds?

talking shit@ ''upgrade''  all they need to do is flip a few switches to raise cap  on bandwidth ...

people in west moorings get 512k already....

Too lazy to start a new thread...

TSTT Selects Calix for Advanced, IP-based Access Upgrade
http://www.tstt.co.tt/about/news_article.cfm?id=289

Quote
TSTT is upgrading its infrastructure by pushing fiber deeper into the access network, offering very-high-speed DSL services to its residential subscriber base, and converting all voice services to VOIP.

About Calix
http://www.calix.com/

Now this was the interesting part... http://www.calix.com/applications/dsl.html

Quote
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) access is the dominant vehicle for connecting subscribers to the internet over copper access lines. As broadband services have become increasingly sophisticated and demand for bandwidth has increased, DSL has evolved from ADSL to ADSL2+ to the "fiber-like" broadband service rates made feasible using VDSL2. Looking ahead, the DSL-enabled broadband connection is rapidly emerging as the foundation over which all future services will be delivered.

Also, a really interesting read in this PDF http://www.calix.com/data/applications/DSL%20%5B041106%5D.pdf

Somewhere in there it says, "enabling up to 40Mbps bandwidth" and later on, "supports future speeds up to 400MBps"

Hmm, let's see how TSTT handles this one... ^_^

I see them digging up road to lay lines all over the place... I think its more to bring them closer to offering digital cable than to give us higher speed internet , but we go see in a few years.

Office in Chagaunas, opposite Medford Gas station in the same building with Flow.

in should be noted that our company is contractually linked to TSTT/Bmobile so as a result they would give us a the service a little earlier than the rest of the puplic, we would have gotten it sooner but we had changed office locations.

Isn't this a business DSL? Package #4?
http://www.tstt.net.tt/business/internet/hs_rates.cfm

If it is a residential line, then the rest of us can have some hope after all... ^_^
