Self Defense
« on: September 24, 2005, 04:41:00 PM »
This thread is not intended to make readers fly like Jet Li or run up a wall, while tying your shoe lace , simultaneously beating Ninja Gaiden on Hard, and eating willies icecream like Jackie Chan. It was created to inform viewers to educate themselves on self defense techniques for those ticklish incidents that some of us might face in life, please feel free to post any thoughts or personal experiences on how to properly act when the nee arises. well I used to think that martial arts would be a good defense against would be assailants.

I don't think so anymore aften an incident many moons ago involving sensei Jacobs (son of Professor Don Jacobs) where he died from a gun shot wound after a robbery attempt.

He was one of the most impressive martial artists that I had known on the island.

Really powerful, really quick and sharp witted. Amazing to see this guy in action in the dojo or at an exhibition. It saddened me to hear that his life was snuffed out by some John Doe Bandit with a gun.

It was a rude awakening that spending years training at martial arts would leave you still very vunerable to these sort of hooligans.

Or even better Narc practice both cause when you pay for pistol practices the instructors recommend practices with soldiers on how to manuver your body propely woth a gun. some kind of equilibrium thing my father did, But as far as Hand to hand combat pressure points is the key and yuh know what is the most sensitive and effective spot!!!!

Martial Arts to me aka self defense tactics is somewhat just for discipline cause after all ive been doing it since i was like 8 years with T.A.K <ploi!> ive stopped a year now or more actually lol and when i was in primary school i wanted to be a brucely bad ass so me and some friends went to fight the nextdoor school bullies ....one big stone fly at me <man down> thank god the rest of my friends had cricket bat to fend them off ..oh yeah i did rush in first it hada drain we had to hop over so i was feelin even more bad ass when i run and jump over it and then well it went downhill from there XD...anyhows even when we learning this stuff in the dojos they say that it is really just disicipline. true dat @ man holding gun .one time last year i was in my family's store  and a guy dressed as a officer come thru with a shotgun of course no one play hero i think i was the first on the floor..there really is no good self defense tactics to me just stay away from areas you know not safe and have a good sense for when you feel something bad happening ..is all about your sense on the streets an thing i keep with that never get hold up or anything in san do since .

Is just like the man said before, cause to me, the best kinda self defense, is when you in trouble, channel chakra to your feet...and den pelt out!

But then again, I rather be safe than sorry....much rather to try and fight and protect my life alone than to do so for others, I mean, dont get me wrong, I not chicken, just I rather if anything my dumb ass get shot than endanger other ppl arround me....

Ok people we all have looked at the fact that a bullet to chest isn't nice but beside this worst case scenario, what will some of you do if yuh in a chokehold from the front and kicking de man in he nuts is not an option, what will you do , what form or action of defense will you take on?

Oh, thats simple.... Firstly, his/her hands are held straight out towards me, so in that instance, all i have to do is get my hand up inbetween his/her to arms and grip one and push away from his/her other arm so that causes slack on on arm and because of that unexpected slack his/her other hand would tense but it would be uneven, so i would just spin in the opposite direction, and pull away hard. Chances are you would get scraped or brused that way, but it puts you in a good spot to get a hit into the back or the ribs (i know it sounds strange to picture, but its possiable, ive done it many times)

If they are holding you, and you are higher than they are (ie you are off the ground) simple boot to face would do....

LOL, doh worry there are many other ways to hurt a person in that postion, so dont worry about your face, there is also the piece of skin at where your fingernails go under it, that area is erally really sensitive to pain, just take your fingernail and press, try it and see, an i mean the darken area on your fingers if you dont understand.
